According to Prabhupada who had launched the infamous 'Krishna Consciousness Movement' both in India and in the West the 'soul' makes it into a human being after years of struggle to attain the human life. In his book called 'Self Realisation' he explained that there is no death to the 'soul' in a person. A man dies physically but not 'spiritually'. Once man is dead his soul is released and it takes birth into a new living thing, be it in an animal or bird or reptile etc. But the whole life as a human being was attained in a person after a prolonged search 'soul-fully' to be born as a human being. In that one dies as a human being and reborn into an another living thing either on a downward scale say for example into an animal again or as a life-long atonement into the universe as 'eternal soul' next to God, the book further explains. If one does good deed in life praising the god he or she can attain this eternity or in other words choose to do bad things in life he or she is cursed to be reborn into a low, menial animal life. Hope I did a good deed answering your query and 10 marks from you for my answer could definitely encourage more good deeds in life. Thank you.

a soul is very confused. soul doesn't posses the senses. it has got only knowledge which is gained during the soul's life on earth. and so to gain more knowledge , the soul decides to take birth on earth to get more knowledge on how to be free from the births and deaths. but when the soul comes on the earth ,it looses its knowledge and runs behind all other things. on earth it gains body by which soul gains knowledge. and only the knowledge experienced is stored in the soul

"You lived with your Heavenly Father as one of His spirit children before you began your life on Earth. You were happy there, but God knew that you could not continue to progress unless you left Him for a time.
So He presented His plan—the plan of salvation. It allowed you to come to Earth, where you would gain a physical body and would have experiences that would help you to learn and grow. The purpose of the plan is to help you become more like Him."

"You are not on Earth by accident. There is a purpose for your mortal existence. You are here to receive a physical body, gain experience, and develop divine attributes—like justice, mercy, and love."

As I have heard that this life is given to a person to enable him to worship god so that he/she may be able to get free from the circle of the life and death. It is said in India that a person has to take 84000 life's before coming to human life. Therefore it is a golden chance for a human being to worship god and get himself freed from the circle with the HIS blessings .

Human birth is so precious,
the main purpose of human being
is to know ourselves,

means, as written in Veda,
'Aham brahmasmi'
I myself is God or
He wants to say, u r generated by Me,
nurtured by Me, and also destroyed by Me,
as I m within you, so know ourselves
it's a concept of Veda
