It could be a variety of things. Arthritis comes to mind first.
Go to your doctor. No need to be in pain if you can get it fixed.

Hi,,,,, probably early signs of arthritis ,, my thumb joints are popping when i flex them,, and are sore deep inside... I hope its not that....

It might be arthritis. Depending on the surrounding conditions whether it would be rhuemator, or even osteoarthritis.

cud be nything: ranging from ur gender, to the dampness in the weather, to age, to stress, to wht u do with ur thumb.....................nything. u will need to conult ur doctor. till then try to massage it with either a good chinese balm, or give them a hot and cold compress treatment!!
i think u can even try the crepre bandage treatment.
