Silly question but I am serious. I know a man who doesn't wash his hands except for when he showers and that is once or twice a week. His hands smell like butt. I know it's gross and even more so since I am in the healthcare field, and have had plenty of microbiology, chemistry, biochemistry classes to know about bacteria, viruses, etc. He says he washes his hands but I know he doesn't because as soon as he's finished doing his business, he flushes and walks out the bathroom. I can't stand to think of him handling food, and eating with those hands. *shudder*
What could I do or should I do? I have talked to him about this and he gets all defensive asking me "what kind of gross person do you think I am?" so I feel as if I get nowhere with him.

well, if he is so touchy, y don't u try a little trick we did in the dorm. place a very nice, heavily perfumed hand wash in the bathroom. try one with moisturizer. after he comes out, ask him wht he thot of the new soap?? did he like the perfume? and did it soften his hands?
if he has not washed his hands, he will be conscious and go back and wash them.

Yes I wash my hands after using the toilet, and like another poster said I also use my sleeve to open the door if I use public conveniences. Are your statistics based on all people using the hospital or just the staff? If it's the latter that is utterly disgusting as they're trained in hygiene and should know better!

Unfortunately for them most people, men and women, don't wash their hands after "doing their business" in the bathroom. It's a proven fact. I would recommend giving him some visual aids to back up what you are saying. For example pictures of the germs and pictures of what those germs can do. That would really make it hit home for him. It worked for me anyways. Besides, it is also a proven fact that men are visual creatures, meaning they learn better by seeing that hearing so you would have better luck with that. Just be honest with him and tell him you aren't doing it to make him feel bad about himself you just want him to know the truth about how dangerous it really is.

I personally cannot exit the bathroom without washing my hands. I can't stand greasy, sweaty and germy hands! Oh, I'm a man by the way.

buy him a couple of petrie dishes and some nutrient agar do some experiments with him and if he doesn't wake up and smell the coffee treat him like a child and wash his hands for him before you let him touch you

it is sick.
I know a man who comes out of the toilet/flushes/ and then comes to the kitchen and sprays fantastic on his hands; if i bug him/ and usings the hand towel for dishes//////////////////gross me out.

that's gross he should wash hand after he is finished . i wouldn't even hold his hand .Try telling him again and tell him how you feel about ed
