Homemade Hair Conditioners
Many of us spend lots of time looking for the right hair conditioner. We want a hair conditioner that will make our hair healthier, shinier, thicker, and more manageable.
While you can find plenty of good hair conditioners at a store or salon, you can also make an effective, and more affordable, hair condoner right at home.
Some home made hair conditioner treatments seem to contain dozens of ingredients, and take the skills of a trained chemist to prepare. And, while some of them are excellent, the following homemade hair conditioners only have one or two ingredients, and take little to no time to prepare.
Mayonnaise and Avocado Hair Conditioner
This homemade hair conditioner will deep condition your hair.
Put a small jar of real mayonnaise and half of an avocado in a bowl. Use a fork or spoon to smash and mix the mayonnaise and avocado together until they are smooth. Apply the creamy mixture to your unwashed hair, from the roots to the ends. Then place a plastic shower cap on your head. Leave the mixture on your hair for twenty minutes. While you’re waiting, do something relaxing, like read a book or listen to music. After twenty minutes have passed, shampoo, making sure to wash out all of the mixture.
Quick Mayonnaise Hair Conditioner
Here’s a simpler hair conditioner using mayonnaise. Dampen your hair. Apply a thick layer of real mayonnaise to your hair, from roots to ends. Then, comb the mayonnaise through your hair with a wide-toothed comb. Leave the mayonnaise on your hair for twenty minutes, then shampoo.
Beer Rinse Hair Conditioner
If you want hair that is more manageable, as well as having more body, try this hair conditioner. After your shampoo, rinse your hair in a bottle of flat, warm beer. Rinse thoroughly, making sure you get rid of all of the beer smell.
Watercress Hair Conditioner
This hair conditioner could help to control your oily hair.
In a blender or food processor, combine half a cup of watercress and one cup of water. Blend until the mixture is smooth. Pour the mixture into a pot, and boil for ten minutes. Use a strainer to strain out the watercress, then let the watercress-infused liquid completely cool.
After washing your hair, apply the watercress liquid to your hair. You can use your hands, or lean over the sink or tub and pour the liquid directly over your head. Leave the conditioner in your hair for twenty minutes. (You might want to drape a towel over your shoulders to catch excess drips.) After twenty minutes, rinse thoroughly

Mayo can be used as an excellent conditioner for hair. It has been used this way for decades. You want to put the mayo on your hair and massage it in, let it sit for approximately 5 to 10 minutes and then wash out. MAKE SURE that you get it all out. Mayo is a food product and can get pretty stinky when left for a couple days in heat ( i.e. the top of your head). I would reccomend doing the mayo treatment once every couple weeks and follow up with another conditioner when you wash. Also conditioners tend to build up on hair, so once a week shampoo twice to get a good clean lather, and then do not use conditioner. It makes hair shiny and clean.

I have heard this before, but have never tried it. I just hate the idea of putting a food product onto my hair.
I have used Pantene Pro-V's deep conditioner before, it works really good. What you need to look for in a conditioner is viscosity. The thicker the conditioner, the better.
Good luck!

I have heard it is a good hair conditioner but it sure would be greasy. It is supposed to help the natural shine or something like that.

i've read something abt mayo and hair, good conditioning properties (must be the eggs). To begin with, i consume 2 eggs for breakfast almost everyday (cook differents way each time of course), i think the protein in eggs help keep my hair healthy and full (balance diet is a big factor as well.) To keep my hair continuously healthy and shiny, once a week at bedtime, i rub olive oil all over my hair, wrap it with towel overnight. In the morning, shampoo and condition it as usual. It works for me, being doing this last 18 years. :) Good luck.

Its great for dry hair, trust me. I use it!
For other conditioners try a mashed avocado with olive oil. Keep it in your hair for a good half hour. Try steaming it with a hot towel and wrap it turban style to work its magic faster.
GoodLuck!!

It is, but it smells really bad. I recommend either avocado or bananas as a homemade treatment. However, I've been using the pro naturals argan oi hair mask and that one is the best in my opinion
