That is a wonderful question and one example of how the bible contradicts itself. I love when someone like you makes a great point and all the answers from Christians are excuses for why God is "above the law"! It just cracks me up. Did it ever occur to these people that is something sounds like a ferry tail it probably is. Just keep pulling things out of your asses to keep answering the questions that disprove your religion and show that the bible is a crock.

Jealousy is NOT defined as a sin in the Bible. Your source is in error.
There are no "seven deadly sins" mentioned in the Bible either. This is an old fairy tale!
Jealousy is described as a problem in a relationship between husband and wife in the OT. If there are jealous feelings, there is a problem. The couple are to consult with the nearest priest about the problem that may or may not be causing the jealous feelings. Taken as a spiritual point, the relationship between God and His people is likened to a spiritual marriage. If there is Jealousy present, it is on God's part for us. He wants us to be faithful to Him, just as a wife should be faithful to her husband. God is always faithful to us.

The Lord is the high and mighty Lord. He can do a lot of things that we can't. And the Lord does not sin. He just wants the respect from his creations that he demanded rather than humans worshipping other gods. That is what is meant by him being a jealous god.
Look at it this way. You seem to be trying to use this to shy away from Christianity. Why take a chance at spending an eternity in hell.

The seven deadly sins are not in the Bible. They were made up by a pope.
God breaks his own Commandments all the time though. Probably because the Commandments are only meant for people, not Him. For example, He can take a human life, but people shalt not kill.

I would relly like to say that envy is really a deadly sin. The word envy is used interchangably with jealousy but the truth is that they are a little different. It is okay to be a little jealous but to be green with envy is wrong. That is what i would like to say but i decided that i wouldn't.
Oh yeah, life was never fair. If i were God i would want the same thing too. So i see no problem. He could do what he wants to.

obviously you have not studied the bible and watch too many movies. jealousy is not described in the bible as one of the seven deadly sins. only in movies has that been brought about. and god says that he is a jealous god because thats exactly what he is he wants his peoples attention and it is well deserved wouldnt you think?
considering he created all things in heaven and earth including you i would think that is deserving of your undevided attention however people worship things today so blindly just because they think that something has brought them good luck, or answered a prayer for them, or has harmed them in some way in a sence punishing them for something they have done to offend either this idea of a different god or inanimate object

The Bible does not state the "seven deadly sins." That is a catholic construct. Jealousy is not a sin, it is an emotion. Emotions are not sin.

The trouble is in translating into English from Hebrew.
The jealousy of God is a unique word. From the Hebrew Lexicon, used of God as not bearing any rival; the severe avenger of departure from himself.
In other words, if you compromise your God with other gods, you are not serving God, and He is not pleased.

All sin is deadly- "For the wages of sin is death"-.
There is no sin in God, who is holy. His jealousy is righteous and just against a people that would dare to worship anyone or anything but the one true living God.
We, on the other hand, are full of sin, and when we become jealous,(unless motivated by godly jealousy), our motives are selfish and sinful- deserving of death.

Did your parents not teach you to do as they say, not as they do?
When you have reached the same spiritual plane as God, and are able to create heaven and earth, fill it with all the wonders and mysteries of life, as God has done then you can make the rules. But then I know that you already knew that for yourself,
