Statistics do not prove that dosages over 20mg have added effects, but my friend is on 40mg. Is that a lot, or is that normal?

The starting adult dose is 5mg per day, taken in the morning. It can be titrated (slowly adjusted) upwards by 5mg increments to get the desired effect. At 20mg or so you start getting a diminishing rate of return. While 10mg is twice as effective as 5mg, 20mg is not twice as effective as 10mg. The side effects also really start showing up at 20mg and beyond. At that point one usually considers trying another medication or treatment.

I to am seeking help and advice. I am 41 yrs old and weigh 190 ( I think that weight might make a difference in dosage ). I take 60 mgs every morning. I'm not sure what a typical dose would be. In my web browsing and ASK YAHOO experience, I am told that 60mgs is about the max. I would love to help with any other questions if I can. I to have a lot of unanswered questions.

7 yr olds should know the difference between right and wrong. How long it takes for parts of the brain to develop has nothing to do with it. I have never heard anyone claim that teenagers don't know the diff between right and wrong. 18 is considered to be an adult. There are some crimes committed by teens under age 18 that are so horrendous, I agree that they should be tried as adults. The thought of letting some of these 'children' loose on society at 19-21 chills my very bones.

That sounds normal, my husband (6'2", 200 lbs) is supposed to take 40 mg, but sometimes he only takes half a dose, because some tasks at work he doesn't feel he needs it.
My 12 year old son (5', 85 lbs) takes 15 mg, and that hasn't been updated for his weight. he is just learning to use less meds and be more responsible for himself. Its easier at a younger age to learn these skills (like organization and self-checking).

Try reading the recommended dosage on the packet or ask the pharmacist if you have lost the packet.

I think that dosage is ok if your friend takes it once a day. Anything above that would be considered excessive.
