My conclusion to that, is that the people in Palestein who wears black hoods and has white bands with texture/ symbols on it, represents those marks. I believe that WW3 will end in an nuclear war between the western world against the middle east. It´s written in the bible that the last war will be fought in the desert. I believe in an Christian God. I have very good friends that are muslims, so this is not to offend anyone. This is what I believe. What do you think or know?

The think the Bible is dated, and no one knows what's really going to happen. If people weren't so worried about tomorrow and what happened hundreds of years ago and just concentrated on helping each other out, we wouldn't have a problem.

This passage about the mark of the beast on the head and on the hand is found in the book of Revelation, a book of symbolism. In fact the very passage talking about the mark of the beast is a symbolic one (Not many people believe a strange beast full of horns will one day rise out of the sea). So we must not look for a litteral meaning of these marks either. Most Christians believe the mark of the beast on the head is symbolic of the thought process of people who oppose God. The "beast" or world power at the time may have people pretty much brainwashed (I use the term loosely). It could even represent the present state of matters, if we believe we are involved in a spiritual war between Satan and God for the minds of people. If that is the case, we could see it everywhere.
Oh, and Judith, (2nd answer above) where ever did you pick up that ridiculous stories about Pentecostals producing their own version of the Bible? And about that line in Revelation changing from "I had a terrible dream"? I think you are trying to be funny, but people who read your comment can't see you smirk, and many who are ignorant about these things will believe what you say.
Assuming you want to attack Biblical beliefs, do you want to prove your point based on lies?

These marks will not be worn until after the initial rapture of Christians. Those who didn't make it out on the "first load" will have a second chance, but it will be far more difficult due to the intensified Christian persecution at that time. During this period is when the marks on the forehead can me expected.

my understanding is that the visible mark will come after the rapture (when God's people are taken), and the mark will be a sign of your devotion to the anti-christ. But if we think about it-aren't our whole lives based on a number of some sort. Even Sam's Clubs (Wal-Mart), require a number to shop there.

You guys really have to stop taking revelations so literally. and did you know that up until the Pentecostals started putting out their versions of the bible, there used to be a line at the start of revelation that said, I had a terrible dream?

It refers to after the Rapture where the Anti-Christ will force everyone to take his mark ( 666) in order to buy, sell. Then later on he will force everyone who hasn't, to take it or to be executed via guillotine. But the Christians will not take it cause they will have the Seal of God ( a cross, possibly).

If you're going to read Revelation literally, then read it literally. It says "mark". It also says the mark will be either the name of the beast or the number of the beast (666).
What type of literary analysis do you think allows you to interpret these things half literally?

The mark of the beast comes during tribulation and we are not there yet. If your saved you will be taken up to meet Christ in the air before tribulation.
