How do these work? Do you really use them on your wet hair and it dries AND straightens it? Can someone please explain? What is the best brand?

Yes they do work. You use them on towel dried, slightly damp hair, NOT DRIPPING WET. Since you don't blow dry your hair, they cut out some of the heat damage that blow drying and then flat ironing will do. They are designed to cut down on damage to hair and time it takes to do hair. The heat infuses moisture into the hair as it straightens and dries, much like using the steam hot rollers. I have found that Cricket has the best wet to straight irons, and the most affordable. I have been using one on my hair for about 9 months know. I use it every day as I have to shampoo every day. As far as the time goes, yes it has cut down my time getting ready in the morning. As far as damage, I don't have quite as many split ends as quickly as when I used an Ionic Dryer and a CHI flat iron. My hair looks and feels much healthier, has a lot more shine, and even when I want, life and bounce. You really need to read the instructions on ANY flat iron you purchase. Some have particulars that are very important, and to keep you from burning your scalp from steam. As with any hair related item, it will all be in personal preference, and whether or not you actually care enough to read the instructions thoroughly.

i have a remington wet 2 straight and it is AWESOME!! i get out of the shower and can go right to straightening my hair! it dries and straightens at the same time and there is about 0 frizz. i've never gotten my hair this straight before!
the only thing you have to watch out for is steam coming from the straightener, but it is awesome.
my hair is actually in better condition now that i have been using it, and it doesnt blow any air! it has vent holes so that the steam can escape as it dries and straightens. and my hair turns out really smooth and frizz free.

DO NOT use them...they will FRY your hair....they dont blow out air before the iron part goes over the hair,,,you just run a 300 degree iron over wet hair...its like dropping water in a frying pan...SINGE!!!......it will take you 10 times as long to finish than if you were just to blow dry and then flat iron...and they will not get your hair really smooth...the extra moisture is going to leave it frizzy

running an iron over damp hair will singe it beyond repair...

I really wish they would take this product off of the market...or put a hugh warning on the front...and for the answer below mine...I'd bet if this girl let her hair dry naturally it would look like a cotton ball its so fried....this could only work if your hair was sooo thin you could blow dry it without a brush in about 2 min...which hardly anyone has that thin of hair

NO, it is very drying and damaging to the hair. My hair specialist says its much better to dry ur hair with a cool setting of the blower or dryer, or maybe electric fan could help as well... then spray a protein or protectant coat before straightening ur hair with a straight hair iron... This will prevent excessive drying and eventually, damage hair... hope this helps...

Unless you have a product on your hair to protect it like Thermasilk, I wouldn't recommend using it. Heat is bad for your hair and your hair is weakest when it's wet. These two make for a bad combination.
