OMG.....DAILY!!!!!!.....Mother of two teen males...the eldest is the most hard-headed....but remember two things.......one: Say yes as much as you can...but when you say NO...PUT YOUR FOOT DOWN!!!!.......and two: Remember they are at an age stuck between being a child and an adult..they want to be both!!!.......I have found raising teens is like going through the terrible-twos and horrible threes again...only you YELL UP!!!....smiles and good luck

Certainly do. My three sons are all grown and out of the nest now. But my fiance has a 17 year old who just refuses to get out of bed in the mornings. She is late almost always and we have tried everything to get her motivated, ie: taken away her MSN use, no cell phone, no computer after 9 pm. Nothing seems to be working. Her poor mother's nerves are almost at an end as she cannot think of anything but this young girl. She did go on time yesterday as he mom recieved a call from one of her teachers the day before. I know that she is aware that her year is in doubt already due to absences but she has that I don't care attitude and thinks she has all the answers. Well here I sit and it's 10:25 in the AM and this young girl is still in bed. I'm recovering from surgery that's why I'm not at work. Just didn't want you to think I was a lazy slob or anything. Ha! Anyway, until this teenage girl gets herself motivated nothing we can do will help her. I try and remember when I was a teen and was so worldly wise also, yeah right. This helps though as can better relate to how she thinks and feels. Funny though after you have grown up it is then you realize that you weren't so brilliant as a youth after all and that your folks actually did know what the hell they were talking about. Good luck to you with your teenager and remember that they all grow out of it someday, some just a little quicker than others.
