I too have just got out of rehab. it is not a easy adjustment!!! I don't know what your drug of CHOICE was , some are easier to get over. you need to go to a N/A or A/A meeting it really does help. what helps me the most is remembering why I desired to quit. not only for my self but also for my family... ..I wish you luck and i am very proud of you, ( EVEN THOUGH I DONT KNOW YOU)

Find someone that knows what you are going through (preferrably someone local) that you can call, or meet for a cup of coffee when you are feeling close to the edge, or having the urges. Going it alone is a very brave thing to do; however, it is also very risky. Surropunding yourself with people who were there, and who can help you to realize that you are not alone, and are not the only one feeling, thinking, and acting this way makes it easier.
If you are a religious type, then pray for strength and guidance during the rough times, and then pray to thank your Higher Power for helping you through after the crisis has passed.
Also, as was suggested, find something else to focus on, and that should help.
If you hvae not done so, do some serious remembering, and discover when it was that you needed/used the most, and why you did so. That will help you to find wayw round that situation, or find things to substitute.
I wish you well in your struggle, and success in your fight.

I will be a recovering drug addict from tomorrow morning - as that is when I quit taking nicotine in the form of cigarettes.
Having tried it before and failed, I know how hard it is to stop and stay stopped so I admire your courage and determination. The craving for nicotine has been described as being as strong as the craving for heroin - what helped me in previous attempts was to turn my mind to something else - I know it sounds simplistic - but it really worked. Also, when the urge got so strong I found that a drink of water helped - don't know why, but it took the edge off it.
I wish you luck.

Try working out more if you can, it takes the edge off and helps you relax and tire yourself out. good luck. I know it sucks really bad at first.

Whenever you get a craving, just masturbate.
It'll take your mind off of it.
