It's not the company of the hair color that should be your concern.....It's the experience of who's applying it! If you can afford it, go to someone who's experienced with coloring.
You'll get what you pay for.

After years of doing my own hair i did sever damage to it. I went to a stylist who cut the split ends and then colored it, the color they used actually had protien in it and made my hair better then it was before. I wish i knew the name, but the salon is a chain one beauty-express.I'm a red-head and red is the hardest color to keep, i go 6 weeks bewteen touch ups and it's fro the roots, before i was redoing my hair every 2 weeks to keep the color up. I spend around 30 at most on touch up with a tip included and i get more complements then ever before.

You need to go to a salon. If you mess usp the color yourself, then you have to get it fixed with more color and pretty soon your hair feels like straw. You can also talk to them about what would look best on you.

I dye my own hair and I have healthy hair. Just make sure you cut the ends regularly and moiturize it with a deep conditioner once a month. Any of the drugstore brand will be fine. Now if you're doing highlights or dying it from brown to blonde or doing something very drastic I suggest you go to a professional colorist.

Any hair dye from a recognised brand (L'oreal, Garnier etc) will be fine for your hair. Generally, if you have heard of the make, it's ok. If it's a strange brand that you have never heard of it may be better to give it a miss but remember that everything is manufactured to a standard so try not to worry!

I dye my wifes hair with Clairol Herbal Essences. I usually lasts about 6-8 weeks before her roots start showing again. They also have a great conditioner that comes with it.

Most of them work fine including the cheap ones, I have found. Your best bet is to have it done in a salon by a professional.
