my bf thinks he cheated on me by hugging another girl and letting her sit on his lap. is that cheating?

It all depends on the nature of it. If it were a long lingering hug, & a cuddle up with her straddling him, it doesn't sound good. The key here is how ur boyfriend responded. Maybe they did get a bit too close, though I wouldn't say it actually constituted cheating, & he had 2 stop himself from taking things further. Even though he may have wanted to. That would mean that his mind committed an offence against u, even though his body didn't. Now, u can look at this from 2 ways: 1) B grateful that he controlled his urges, & was honest wiv u about it (not many men like that around!), or 2) B offended, (u have every right) in which case u have 2 break it off wiv him cos u probably won't trust him again. Cos if he sees u hurting, yet u stay wiv him, he'll have no incentive 2 b honest wiv u about any future mistakes.
Question how u'll honestly b wiv him in the future. Will u hold it against him? Sometimes it's the smallest things that eat away at u & prevent u from bein happy.

I wouldn't think a hug would be the same thing as cheating but to let another girl sit in his lap, well maybe the sitting part.

I wonder why she sat on his lap and mostly why he thinks he cheated by doing that? Hmmmm. seems like he or she either wants you to be jealous or wants to see your reaction in case he makes this a habit. Depends largely on why he hugged this other girl too. Is she a relative/old girlfriend/acquaintance? What relationship do YOU have with her? And yes, if you are younger than 25, go out and play. You'll never be able to do that again after you really grow old. DOnt miss the opportunity to just have great friends and have fun. Respectfully of course.

Well no it is not cheating unless your boyfriend gets really intimate with that girl. A friendly hug and asker her to sit on his lap is not considered cheating at all. I mean i am sure you hugged a guy before.

He told you, how do you feel about it. If you don't want him to do it again say so. A hug isn't a big deal. Sitting on his lap, well I wouldn't be too thrilled. Stake out the boundaries. If we say it's cheating will you dump him? If you don't like the way he behaves tell him so, you don't have to fry him right off the bat.

I personaly would have a huge problem with it. If you don't, that's your opinion. Just, think of it this way. If the tables were turned, and you were the one sitting on some boys lap and hugging on some boy, would you consider it cheating. Answer that, and have your answer.

Oh my god!!!!! Why would he do that in the first place huh? And you let that slide....... Oh my! If he would let a girl sit on his lap... Would he let a girl kiss him? Your boyfriend sounds funny. No he did not cheat. It is neat he thinks he did. You could really make the guy suffer. Ha , If he had had sex with her than yes he would have cheated. You guys need to talk this out and decide how you both feel and what YOU TWO think about things. Good Luck.

Technically, No it's not but sitting in someone's lap is not respecting that he's your boyfriend. He needs to do some serious soul searching to think if he really wants to be with you. At least he fessed up and told you the truth. Good luck and I hope that everything works out for you.

Um, NOT even close! Cheating is when two people or more get makes and has some sort of sex. If you are worried about a girl sitting on his lap you have issues. But he certainly was flirting!
