I tried to download firefox but it isn't supported by OS 9.2 only 10 and higher. So I am not sure what to upgrade(s) that I need to get.

You need to upgrade to OS X. OS 9.2 is obsolete and OS X has many, many features that are much better. If your current system isn't capable of running OS X, buy one on eBay or get a Mac Mini ($599 on Apple's web site) but don't bother trying to use OS 9.

Almost all developers have stepped away from OS 9 browsers because of security issues and because so few people still use OS 9. Try iCab. I have no assurance that it will show the Yahoo page but it is your only hope unless you buy OS X.
