Maybe the government will institute some of the same policies that they did when they believed (believed, being the operative word) there were no natives like the land grabs and the walking purchases. That would be sweet! We native, pagans, and heathens would be able to get our stuff back!!
I think I might stay here near the coast and keep my eyes opened... In the end it all comes down to belief so if you believe you will be taken, you will be taken, if you don't believe in it at all then you will have a nice 10 acre parcel with an ocean view and private river access.

If such a cartoonish scenarion were to actually happen, the normal rules of law, inheritance, etc. would apply. However, if suddenly 40% of the population vanished, there's no way they could realistically kepp track of everything. You could just go take what you want and no-one would figure it out.
