If it's done at a salon or spa where they do facials on many people this may be why. Most places don't change the applicator for every person they do. Because they don't, the germs from other people's faces are now on yours. STD's can also be spread this way from doing bikini waxes on many different people.
If it's happening and you do it yourself at home it may not be a fungus but just a reaction to the waxing. Your skin may not like it.

the was would have to be contaminated with a fungus........the top layer of your skin is removed durring waxing...which leaves the skin open for infections
