The tooth fairy can stop visiting when the kids stop losing teeth. Play along as long as possible. Children grow up too quick. As long as they are still enjoying the tooth fairy's visits, keep it up! You'll miss doing it when they get older.

I know I was about 8 or 9 when I was like unsure of the tooth fairy thing though I seen my six other brothers and sister go through the tooth fairy thing, it all depends on the child if they still strongly believe and don't really question about about it I would do it till they loose the last tooth which I think is about 12 which they are still young. There is so many other things to believe in next to the tooth fairy.

Hopefully never. The tooth fairy is a god in our house. My three year old now brushes her teeth (used to be a battle) but she does it now as many times a day as possible. This is because the tooth fairy might pop in for a check on her teeth to see if they are sparkling. She gets a shiny pound if she gives a shiny tooth and SPROUTS for a dirty tooth. That is what she has decided. This is great but she is now obsessed about this and any book or dvd that has anything to do with tooth fairy she has to have. And it is costing a fortune in tooth paste.
One problem now is that she is 3 and keeps trying to pull her teeth out, and is convinced they are all wobbly.

When they are ready to stop believing.... my son did not believe it at all since his first tooth came out at 4... he did the whole thing with the tooth fairy and asked for his tooth back the next day, stating that he knows there is no tooth fairy, just mommy and daddy and all he wanted was the money that is why he pretended that he believed??!! go figure that one out!!

The tooth fairy stopped visiting my house when my son was 9 or 10. Some kids told him it wasn't true and he came home to ask me about it. I told him the truth, since he wasn't a baby anymore, and now we have fun when he does lose his teeth by making funny faces at each other and letting him put them in a special place with his other baby teeth.

I would stop it when all the baby teeth fall out, you could explain that the tooth fairy is only little and only needs small teeth! I know someone who got money when her tooth got taken out at the dentist! I certainly won't be doing that with my son!

When they realize the Tooth Fairy isn't real or when they stop losing teeth - which ever comes first.

I thought it was when all baby teeth have gone. I knew the fairy didn't exist before that but still got money! Mind you I might have been a bit spilt coz Santa still came until I left home at 16!
