Does anyone know if the two could be connected. She has tried weight watchers and various other diets etc but nothing seems to work and she does stick to the do's and don'ts. She gets quite down because of her weight and is a single mother. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Has she asked her GP?
I'm sure that they would be very willing to help.

In some cases they are connected. Is your daughter in any kind of treatment or medication for this pituitary tumor? The reason I'm asking is because I'm dealing with one my self and I had trouble with my weight too. Then the doctor started me on this medication and I have notice the change in my weight. I have been through several medications and its not ease. But It would be good for her to talk to her doctor and tell then about this problem. They should be able to give her something to help her with both, her weight and her tumor. But it's possible that she would have to go through several medication, before they can get the right one for her.

They are, I think. I certainly know that if the thyroid gland's messed up, then you lose or gain weight depending on the problem
