Why would you want to know? If she says she believes then (you have to believe) she does. By flat out saying "do you believe in Santa?" it shows here there is a possiblity that she couldn't. To kids Santa is real--no question. She'll probably find out at school or some where else so I wouldn't want to be the one to ruin it.
I am twenty, have a kids of my own, I live thousands of miles away from my mom and "Santa" still sends me something every year in a box along with my mothers gifts. "Santa only comes to those who believe"
No, I don't believe in Santa but I think it's cute how my mom trys to carry on the tradition. We had no ill feelings when we found out and to this day my mom has never said Santa is not real.

Don't ask her. Just play along that Santa is real. Kids usually believe in Santa until they are around 10-12, but they won't say anything to you because they are afraid that Sata won't come. Kids at school will eventually convince her there is no Santa, and she will tell you on her own when she is ready.
I am 31 years old and Santa still visits me on Christmas Eve. He brings much more practical gifts like shampoo and socks now, but he still comes. He even visits my mom who is 62....traditions are really a nice part of Christmas. Just enjoy her while she is young!

Ignore some of those other answers. Just ask her what she's hoping Santa will bring her this year, or she wants to write a letter to Santa. If she doesn't believe in him anymore she'll probably roll her eyes and tell you. Good Luck, I hope she does still believe in Santa!

Doesn't the spirit of Santa live on in us? Santa represents so many good things in this world why would we take him away from our children...
I believe in Santa every time I see a kind and thoughtful act done with love....

talk to her about santa but don't start the converstation with santa...tell her stories of when you were little and bring up holidays, and gifts, the easter bunny or something like it. And bam santa can be in the mix, and candy coat the question in such a way she doesn't realize what your really asking but will still answer.

Ask her what she would like santa to bring her for Christmas and is she looking forward to listening for the reindeer hoofs on the rooftop and the jingle of bells?

Just keep playing along and labeling presents from Santa. She will approach you when she is ready... No doubt about it

I wish I had enough points to give a thumbs down to those who answered: Ask Her.
At 9 years old our son was being bullied by his classmates because he believed in Santa Claus. I would have taught him to bully them back, but my wife told him that the evidence he was relying on was created by herself and me. Shame on her.

Piece of cake!
Don't get her anything this Christmas and if she screams out that Santa is dead then she used to believe in Santa. Christmas 2007 could be a bit fraught though.
