ok I am confused. How is it that you are going to pre-trial for a traffic ticket ?? There is no jury trials for a traffic ticket.
I am assuming of course that the driver of the vehicle was pulled over for a citation and that is when you received your citation as well.

You feel there has been a simple misunderstanding. You understand the officer was just trying to do his job, but he mistakenly thought you didn't have your seatbelt on when you did. Since you were, in fact, obeying the law, you would like to have this ticket overturned. - Then have your witness tell exactly what happened.

Grrr! Have the witness come to court. (S)he will get you off the hook (hopefully.) Tell the officer to chill. What a sucky position!

What a waste of public money.
A small fine and you want a full blown jury trial.

WOW! Your state gets "trials" for no seatbelt? As if our courts aren't cluttered enough!
