In most states, you can go to DMV's website and request a duplicate driver's license. Or you should be able to go to DMV in person and get a duplicate. Once you have a photo id, you should be able to get a new SS card and birth certificate as well as get access to a rental car. Look up the name of your insurance company in the phone book or online and call them and report your claim. If you have comprehensive coverage, they should pay for your vehicle (a deductible may apply however). Like an earlier poster said, you should watch your accounts and credit reports very carefully for suspicious activity.

Now I have a question. Why was all of this stuff IN YOUR TRUCK? Your driver's license and SS card should be in your wallet, which should be on YOU. Your birth certificate, nursing license, and a copy of your insurance info should be kept in a safe place (like a fireproof safe) in your home. It is silly to leave such crucial ID information just laying around in your truck! Hopefully you've learned your lesson though.

Good luck!

Did you LIVE in your truck? That's a lot of personal information to have in a vehicle! Does your DMV allow online renewal or reissue of your driver's license? When my wallet was stolen I needed a new license, and the DMV in Virginia was very mean to me because I didn't have two forms of id, one with a photo (duh! my license was stolen!). So I went online and applied for a new license and got it in a few days in the mail. That's all I've got for you in the way of how to get a rental. Can a friend rent a car, and you use his/her car, and you pay him/her? The insurance company won't pay for a rental until the vehicle has been gone 48 hours after you report it to them. That's because most of the time cars are located by then, or in the event that it was just repossesed or towed you'd know by then, and that would of course not make it a theft case. I know in your case that's not what happened, but just some background.

The police aren't doing anything to find your vehicle. You should go ahead and apply for another copy of your birth certificate too. I know this was not helpful, but there's really not a lot you can do. If your car is recovered, you don't even know if this stuff will still be in there!

That is a bad situation. You can't get a copy of your birth certificate without picture ID, you can't get a social security card without picture ID and birth certificate. If you go to the DMV you should be able to get a duplicate license based on the info they have in the computer but they might want to see your social security card. Call the DMV and see what they say and you need to call the credit bureau and inform them that you might become a victim of identity theft. The police probably won't find your truck but your insurance should cover the loss of the truck. You could probably call the nursing association to get another license sent to you. Sorry to hear about all of your problems and I hope everything works out for you.

You are wide open for ID theft, change all your accounts and watch your credit reports for anything strange.
You can get a copy of your license from the License Branch from where you moved.
Wow, birth certificate too? Watch out!

Your insurance agent should be able to help you out with the claim on the car. They still do somethings!
