I recently moved into a new house-I felt as if it needed a "spiritual housekeeping" and me and my new roomate prayed over the house and used a sage stick and meditated on positive energy and then opened the doors...Now, my roomate swears up and down that she is hearing things at night and during the afternoon, maybe residual energies-she's not scared of it at all-our house is definetely filled with good energy, and we both feel safe and good about everything but I was wondering if maybe we "stirred" something up. Every time I move into a new house, this is what I've always done, so for my roomate to be feeling or sensing some things, just seems out of the ordinary...btw-she's not crazy and neither am i, so for those who only want to insult, go elsewhere please. ;)

peace-

obino-what are canabies? are you referring to cannabis? also, this was a spiritual question-so the fact that you say you cannot offer me anything "spiritual" and only insult me, makes your answer pointless and void.

smudging is safe. after my wife died we smudged the entire house and the smoke was so think when we opened the doors the neighbors thought the house was on fire. certainly did not hurt anything and made me feel better. there were no more spirits after than before the smudging process. we used both sage and sweet grass

I had a friend who always did that b/c she'd hear things. So one day I went over there because I wanted to hear what the noises were. It was the house settling! I don't see anything wrong with smudging but I think alot of people start listening for things and convince themselves that normal house sounds are something else.

Yes, it is safe. It will however not get rid of spirits. Your roommate is just more sensitive to spirits than you are. most people cannot see or sense spirits and those that want to learn how to detect ghosts using tools of the trade and do this scientifically. Go to the link below and scroll down past all the offers of courses and such until you get to the free articles and from there you have listed many, many free articles that deal with this subject and this may help you at least understand what is happening.

I've never had any problems with anything being "stirred up" by a cleansing or purification ritual, so can't say. On the other hand, my residences have been nothing special to speak of.....maybe a former resident of the house is "peeking back" from the afterlife, because they loved the place?

(This will upset every conventional Christian on Y/A, but I suspect that the Eternal is willing to let my very Christian parents peek in on the garden and the workshop at their old house if they want, because they loved it so---and the new people love the house, too....)

Maybe you can do a "howdy and welcome, if you're here in peace" sort of ritual? ("Hi, glad you stopped in....but can you be a TINY bit quieter at night?---thanks!") Glad you're feeling nice energies, though...

Lady keep y'all safe and happy!

No, smudging is completely harmless. You are banishing not invoking. Perhaps what you were trying to get rid of is on it's way out the door. Maybe this is what you hear. Try placing some home protection amulets around the home as well. I have directions on how to make a few if you need them.

Good luck.

Ammmmmm..................maybe you did. Why didn't you just clean the house with salt, say a pray and ask that all energies of cofussion and wickedness take their immediate departure? That is what i usually do. Then i light some incense in a cole pot and fill my house with smoke untill i can't take it then i just open it up again to let it out.

Its safe as long as you don't burn down the house. It is an ancient practice followed by many religions to create a sacred space. So smudge away.

There are numerous people who would laugh at the possibility of changing their destinies. This is due to the fact that it thinks that nobody gets more that what is put in his destiny.

It sounds like you performed the smudging with the right intent. She may be hearing things but that doesn't mean they are bad things. Good luck.

When you start obsessing about things that your 'hear' about or are told about that can not be validated as truth, then they start becoming reality to you. That is a form of mental illness. You need to gain your senses back and return to reality.
