I have a guy friend (in his 20's) who's having sex with a woman 16 years older. Any thoughts on that?

I have a friend who married a women his own mother's age.... makes me shudder, but apparently they mesh well and can look beyond age.

As long as they are both consenting adults, they are the only ones who can say what is right for them.

I personally can't find that much in common with people more than seven or eight years older or younger than myself and I chose to marry a man only 10 months older than me.

I do have friends who are five years younger and some who are five to seven years older. I find that the further in age they are, the less close we are, though.

But if we're talking about just sex, I can see how he might be attracted to an older women, not neccessarily for her body, but for the confidence women build as they become more confortable with themselves.

Confidence is very attractive and many girls in their twenties just haven't gotten there yet. Your friend might just want a woman who enjoys being in her own skin, so he found this woman.

Some people find older partners more attractive for a number of reasons. She's probably more experienced and sexually confident than women his own age. Also, there could be other benefits like the sugar momma factor going on. And, he might just like her for her personality and the sex is just an added benefit!

It is not like he selected her specifically because she was 16 years older than him. Maybe he did, but I think they fell in love with each other for whatever reason.

Probably because the sex is great. Let's face it, at 20 you're less experienced, more inhibited and slower to experiment. By the time a woman is in her 30's she knows exactly what she wants, how to get it, is comfortable with her body & knows a little more about how to please a man. Physiologically, it makes good sense. Men reach their sexual peak in their teens, where as we women closer to around 40-ish. They're possibly quite a good match sexually, even if they haven't much else in common.
