I know a Pastor from India who has planted 40 Christian churches there. He comes and teaches at my church occasionally when our senior Pastor is out speaking at a conference or on vaction or something like that. He says that most Indian people don't really think too highly of Christians and especially in the north but all of the people in his churches get jobs and go to school and seem to live without too many problems even if their religion doesn't receive much respect.

His name is Zac Poonen and here's a link to his churches site. http://www.cfcindia.com/web/mainpages/home_page.php

India is the safest place to live in as a religious minority , they play good enough role in politics ( sonia gandhi is a catholic and there are 6 chief minsters who are cathilics)

no fear from any one reason infact hindus fear of different conversion stratagies adopted by catholics and christians.
Right wing hindus are far better than any cathalic fundametalist in the west ,they only cry for majorities right but does no harm to any one
because India is the only country where the majority lives at the mercy of minority.
they feel very much safe n secure ask anyone in any church ,if a minority dies of something there is hype and hoopla in the media and politics and even if 1000 majority die no one cares .
so no worries.

When I think of Christians/Catholics in India, I think of how they are a minority group and oppressed by Indian society. They receive lots of hate from their own people, which is really sad. We need to raise awareness about this issue not only among the Catholic/Christian community, but the global community.
