she's been crying, bleating & howling since Sunday. I feel bad for her, but I feel like i'm losing my mind.

There is nothing that you can do BUT deal with it. Get her to lay with you and pet her, they like LOTS of attention when they are in heat, they stop with the annoying moans and meows when you give them love too.

You can have her spayed now - while she is in heat.
Cost a bit more, but can be done

Here is an excerpt from the site below:
Some female cats are disruptively annoying when they are in heat, yowling and carrying on and they are spayed to end the heat quickly. Other cats are spayed in heat randomly when the owner does not realize that the cat is in heat. Either way the spay is slightly more difficult due to the engorgement of the tissues and larger blood vessels. Spaying in heat does not carry a significant risk to the cat but, since extra surgery time is frequently required, an extra charge may be incurred.

my cat did the same thing. I would lock her in a room away from the other rooms especially at night with her litter and food and some toys. At least it muffled the sound but I could still hear her. Take her to the vet asap. As soon as you bring her home she will be quiet.

Mine is doing the same thing. I don't think there's any way to shut them up except to give them what they want. but that has inconvenient consequences. Once she's mated she'll be fine. So it's noise or kittens - your choice

When she makes those purrr-eeow sounds, do the same sound back but louder, that usually confuses them and they shut up for a few. Good luck
