If you didnt have the threat of hell as a consequence for all of your actions would you still worship your god, go to church or avoid sin?

The threat of hell is merely to disuade christians from sinning and to persuade them to attempt to convert others in order to save them.

Christianity doesn't exist because of the threat of hell, but it does help keep the religion going.

Yes I would, because I don't have the threat of hell as a consequence. That's the part people don't seem to get. The worry of hell is only for those who are threatened by it. Being that I am a child of God, this is not an issue for me.

I go to church because I want to honor God with worship, I read my Bible because it makes me a better person daily, I avoid sin because it hurts the One I love most when I do it. I don't do what I do and live the way I do because of the threat of hell, but because of Love.

Like most people in Christendom, have you been taught that God tortures sinful, imperfect humans in a fiery hell to be tormented forever? Well, what does the Bible really teach about hell?
It teaches us that hell is not a place of torment. Do you really think that our Creator who is called a God of love in the Bible would torture imperfect humans? Answer this---if you knew someone who burned alive a friend of yours or even a close relative or they tortured them endlessly for a week or even a day, how would you feel about that person? Would you love that person? Would you have any respect for them? Well, that is how Satan the devil wants people to think about God. He wants to make God seem to be a cruel, unloving tyrant. The hellfire doctrine is a lie started by Christendom. The Bible tells us that hell is where the dead are laid to rest. All who die go to hell (grave). Can the dead be resurrected from hell? Yes, and they will be: "The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath."--Proverbs 15:24
Did you know that hell will soon be done away with--yes, hell will be a thing of the past. At Revelation 20:13,14 promises us_"And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death."
Death will bo no more and hell will be no more for without death, there will be no need for hell (graves) Does this not make sense?
God is love and we can be assured that he is not merciless or sadistic like the churches of Christendom make him out to be. When people say that God tortures humans, it makes Satan very happy. We need to prove Satan a liar.
I will always worship God, attend Christian meetings and unfortunately no one can avoid sin and the wages sin pays is death until the time when "death is no more." (Revelation 21:4)

Once you follow Christ you don't have the threat of hell, so yes, we'd still do all those things.

God gives us blessings all the time. The whole idea of hell is that sin seperates you spiritually from God. Most believe it's not a one sin and you're out type of deal. Sin cumulatively seperates you from persuing God. Hell is seperation from God.

Most people that have discovered a church and stick with it actually get something out of it. If you didn't get something out of it, trust me, you wouldn't go just because someone says you're supposed to. It doesn't say you're supposed to go to church in the Bible. Church is a place to find community, friendships, life support, and at the same time, learn about your faith.

You naturally avoid sin if you're following Jesus. It becomes a natural thing. That doesn't mean you ever become perfect or sin free.

If there were no hell there would be no God to put sinners there. In fact there would be no sin. We could all do what we pleased without eternal consequences. The sacrifice of Christ would make no sense.

I am a Christian not because of the threat of hell but because God himself has saved me from it and his wrath. I owe him my devotion.

Hell has nothing to do with it. It's being friends, best friends with God. It's a respect for who He is and what He does. It's feeling His love in your life everyday. It's knowing that every life has purpose including your own and when you find that purpose, it brings the most incredible satisfaction. We love Him and Serve Him because He loves us and will do anything for us - anything that is that is good for us. When you meet Jesus and know His friendship, hell and the devil are, at the most, an inconvenience. God is so much greater. He died on the cross to pay for your sins, why spit in His face for that. But you have free will, you can accept His gift or reject it. It's up to you. He never forces any of us to do anything. Wherever you end up it will be your choice.

I don't worship God or go to church or avoid sin out of fear. Hell is the furthest thing from my mind. Peace, honor and love is much more important.

Yes God has given me direction and purpose in my life. Even if there is no physical hell, I would create my own hell mentally without a constant contact with God. If I did not tap into his love and inspiration on a daily basis, I would feel lost. I feel as though my purpose in life is to be of maximum service to God and his people. I do not do this out of fear but because I expierance peace and serenity when I am living Gods Will. I seek his guidence everyday because nothing compares to the feeling of Gods love. It is there for everyone all you have to do is ask for it. Peace :)

I am not afraid of hell, nor do I fear God. I respect my God and believe that he loves me, and through Hislove I can live the type of life that leaves the concept of going to hell out of the equation. I try to be the kind of person Jesus asks us to be, and repent my sins when they occur, which is even too frequent for my liking. My faith in God's love is strong, and I would never trade that for anything.
Bless you and have a wonderful day!

Once you experience God you will never want to leave His awesome presence. The Lord is all consuming, rich in mercy, full of love and long suffering for His creation. Once you are born again you have experienced God and the awesome joy of having all your sins forgiven by Christ is beyond understanding. He will give you peace that can not be taken away. People come to Christ to be forgiven. Those who come to Christ in fear of Hell eventually fall away because although fear is a motivator, and cannot contain a person.
