"According to Gareth's report, Jay Larkin, a fight organizer with Home Box Office, said yesterday that Felix Trinidad who is retired from boxing was prepared to make a comeback at 168 lb to fight Joe Calzaghe."
telegraph.co.uk.
IF it happens ,what would be the outcome ? Would you rather see Tito vs. Spinks, Tito vs. Calzaghe, or none?

The question is about Trinidad vs Calzaghe
DLH is nowhere in it .
MJ23 --- by the way its another issue but if you know anything about what happened between dlh vs. Trinidad rumors it looks like the one ducking the rematch is DLH not Trinidad, in fact is the same old story, Oscar calls(to promote his next fight or event), Trinidad answers, Oscar runs, its getting old. If this fight is to happen which I doubt
At 160 , Trinidad will Kill him , wow he was willing to fight Strum (which he lost)
And then a business partner Bhop (which was more embarrassing than Trinidad loss) but won’t fight Trinidad ? hmmmm , ho is scared ? well maybe not scared but he knows Trinidad will have no mercy against him because they’re no partners. I could keep talking but lets just leave it there.
The question is about Trinidad vs Calzaghe
DLH is nowhere in it so lets stick to the q please

interesting Ltrain -- but for me if tito where to make a comeback I rather see him fight Spinks , im not sure he can handle Calzaghe even if I think it would be more interesting fight PPV wise and a challenge for both fighters , in some way I concur with Brent F , I love Trinidad style but I rather see him retired its been to long and needs to prove nothing and Calzahge is in his prime and in a weight I don’t see Tito doing well, its difficult because it sound like interesting fight if I dint have so much doubt about Trinidad capacity at this moment.

FrankD - I also think Trinidad should stay retired he has nothing to prove, but if he decides to return, I don’t think DLH is the only option only the better option but for both, DLH and Trinidad need each other to pass the million mark, with Spinks he should be able to make couple of $$$ with a better chance of winning than fighting Calzaghe and make around 400K, 500 K PPV.I concur with the achieving theory this is a no win situation for Calzaghe only IF Tito wins there is an accomplishment, but I don’t think Tito can win this one. Calzaghe has other good options I will love to see him fight Bhop I think he could beet him but then people will say that Bhop was to old. Calzaghe could seek fights Ag Taylor, Kessler, Ikeke or Wright and others
Still if the fight happens, (witch i Doubt) I agree with Ltrain , Trinidad won’t be a push over , i even think Tito could win but only if he KO Joe. Any ways it should be interesting fight. Spinks fight could be interesting also

To the first answerer god help you if you ever told Tito that to his face, Tito is one of the best boxers of the last two decades and you still get chumps wanting to call them names.
The only fight left out there for Tito is the Rematch with De La Hoya and i would be surprised if De La Hoya would want to get that one on (unless he can promote it that well he cant turn it down). Trinidad is a Legend in his own right and i still sit and watch his fights all the time but i just think when he retired was the right time to get out, i don't want to see him come back and get destroyed just to make a fast buck.
Calzaghe has much more interesting fights out there and i would like to see him unify the belts first by beating Kessler and then going after the Americans if they haven't all retired by that time. I mean its going to be at least 12 months before he gets back in the ring i would guess because of his hand troubles in this last fight.
I think you have got me wrong Stuie, i am a huge Calzaghe fan and i was there at ringside on saturday night cheering him on, i know he controlled the fight and i know Bika was dirty i just didnt think it was his most convincing performance and neither did most of the rest of the crowd there were some even asking me after the final bell if he had won it i replied to them that i thought he had pissed it by at least 5 rounds but they were looking at me strange as if i hadnt watched the same fight, Like i said he won it but wasnt that convincing.
As for his next fight i dont think Joe acheives anything by beating up on Tito, if he wins easily (which i think he would) the Americans will say that Tito was washed up anyway and Joe should of beat him, and if Joe somehow lost the fight the Americans would have another reason for trashing British boxers so i just think the fight is a nothing fight. Kessler is the fight for Joe, unifying them belts then let the Americans try and take them off him thats where Joe can make some big money.
Also Joe is no where near retiring he has a good few lucrative years ahead of him yet.

I'm trying to be as bias-free as possible here, seeing as Calzaghe lives about ten miles away from me! But having seen every world title defence of his since he won the first of his belts, against a variety of different boxers with different styles, I'd have to say that Calzaghe is probably the best pound-for-pound boxer on the planet and the best since Roy Jones Jnr. in his late-90s/early-00's prime. He absolutely brutalized Jeff Lacy, and Lacy was the fighter that the American boxing public saw as the jewel in their crown.
If Joe and Felix I don't think Trinidad would be a pushover - but I think Calzaghe's versatility as a fighter, coupled with the fact that fighters coming out of retirement tend to struggle with stamina a little, would see the Welshman a winner in no more than eight rounds or so.
And personally, I'd rather see Tito fight Calzaghe than Spinks - Spinks is not a boxer I enjoy watching.
Why, what do you think?

Calzaghe would win by easy 12 round decision. He would box Trinidad's ears off.

Do you mean a real bout not a "Dream Bout"? Calzaghe is overrated. He has fought all his fights in Europe. Who has he beat other than Lacy? Calzaghe would lose to Trinidad, Hopkins or Taylor.

Tito a great fighter in his own right should stay retired. Calzaghe would eat him up. Tito - : " to rest is to rust".

Tito will lose. He can only fight with one-way.
I would pick none.
A better match up would either be Taylor or Hopkin (to come of retirement).

De la Hoya's got nothing on Calzaghe, Hoya was way over hyped, sure he'd kick my a$$, and knockout many good boxers, but America is going to see Calzaghe in Vegas soon, HBO want
him there..
Added info....Don king said "I love you man" to Calzaghe before his last fight, he knows he's a great boxer.
Calzaghe destroyed Lacey who alot of the American boxing world called the new Mike Tyson (of his weight class)..I know that to be wrong coz there is no equal to Mike Tyson ever, but he really pummelled Lacey...buy the dvd i'am coz it was the best show of boxing techniques ive seen in years.
and just for the record im unbiased too, ive seen many, many fights on t.v..the thriller in manilla on dvd, the 2 other Ali..Joe Frazier fights...many De La Hoya fights.. saw the Holyfield, Tyson fight in a washington state casino..Bruno..one good punch to Tyson who rocked him..but couldnt follow up coz of lack of speed...i know a bit... Calzaghe will be in Vegas soon, and expect a good fight, he will never be sucker punched, if he don't get a knockout he will win on points..
To Frank D..Calzaghe is about to retire himself, so let the fight begin..hbo are interested its gotta happen soon, last fight Calzaghe was in wasn't his best but the guy was dirty, threw his head in at ever chance and split Calzaghe's face in the 3rd round i think, but with a big gash carried on like nothings wrong. Also his opponet was undeafed in 4 yrs with 34 or so knockouts, he was slightly stronger but never got sucker punched, dodged his punches most of the time easily, though a little cocky on the night to impress the americans..he's a great fighter...his hand troubles stem from about 6 months ago...he's ready i reckon..give him his dues..give him the fight he wants..he's earned it already..
Calzaghe's last fight wasn't a disapointment he was in complete control, even after been purposely head butted on 3 occasions he carried on, and this geezer stopped his last fight with a head butt in the same cheek area. Fxxxxx cheat. I have no respect for that guy as a fighter, even tryed to push him out the ring, and knock him out after the bell, which came to nothing
