Okay, here's my problem... i have a paper due tomorrow. i've worked 3 days on it and i nearly finished. Then i decide to save it. THen i thought i "saved as" on the wrong file. Instead of saving it "proposal" i saved it as "invitation" . So then i saved it again with the file name "proposal". But it didn't save. Thinking that i saved it at "proposal", i opened the "invitation" and deleted everything. i saved it so now it's a blank document. Then i opened proposal and ofund out that i didn't save it. So now all my 3 days work is gone.

does anyone know how to undo something after saving and closing the file??? i really need help.

thanks

What program were you creating and saving with?

Where were you saving the file?

What operating system are you using? (if XP, I can help you)

I feel that the data it is lost permanently, this is because
you did not save properly and more over you opened the original file and deleteded all the content.

But , i want to know the type of file that you created ,i.e what it
the file type eg .doc .xls.

This is because in Mircosoft word i think
there a way to get previous version (this is applicable only if you had enabled this option when you created your document), i am not sure, but try it out .

I suggest you to some backup software to backup important files.
