Hinduism is the parent religion of all religions in the world. A simple test to prove this point. Hindu religion is said to have a lot of ceremonies, right from ones birth to death. There is no ritual or rite known to Hindu religion. That is the ceremony for conversion and re-conversion. Such a situation is possible only when this religion is the original or the only religion in the world. The people professing this religion, would have not seen a situation where they had to convert some one from other religions or reconvert the prodigal son who wanted to come back to its fold. The fact that there is no known religious leader, who can be said to represent the whole of Hindus will also vouch for this. It is a religion which evolved on its own. Even the name Hindu was given by others, who do not belong to this religion.

Hinduism is generally regarded as the world's oldest organized religion.

Most forms of Hinduism are henotheistic religions. They recognize a single deity, and view other Gods and Goddesses as manifestations or aspects of that supreme God. Henotheistic and polytheistic religions have traditionally been among the world's most religiously tolerant faiths.

Hinduism differs from Christianity and other Western religions in that it does not have a single founder, a specific theological system, a single system of morality, or a central religious organization. It consists of "thousands of different religious groups that have evolved in India since 1500 BCE."

HINDUISM

But hindu the name come from indus of indus valley civilisation those who lived by the river indus later called as hindus

"The Persians, using a slightly different pronunciation of the word "Sindhu," refered to the people who lived near or on the other side of the Sindhu River as "Hindus," and their religion became known as "Hinduism." Prior to that time, Hindus had called their religion Sanātana Dharma (the eternal religion), Vaidika Dharma (the religion of the Vedas), Ārya dharma (the noble religion), or mānava dharma (the religion of mankind). Eventually the word "Hindu" came into common use among Hindus themselves,[7] and was borrowed by the Ancient Greeks as Indos, Indikos ("Indian"), into Latin as Indianus.[8] and into Sanskrit, as hindu (हिन्दु), appearing in some early medieval texts.[9]

in hindu there are so many believes

It's like did the chicken come first or the egg?
Ask some one who is Hindu he'll say Hinduism
Ask some one who is Muslim he'll say Islam and so on and so forth. But the point is God one you call him by any name. Instead of trying to find out which one is oldest and which one is superior, follow any religion of your choice whole heartedly & learn to respect other people and their religions. As the saying goes All road leads to Rome..any religion followed perfectly will take you to the One God who is merciful.

From an Islamic perspective : Islam is the youngest religion in its final and perfected form ......but the oldest religion in the universe.

The first thing that Allah created before anything in the universe, even before Adam and all the planets and stars was THE LIGHT OF MUHAMMED.

Islam was not revealed to all mankind way back then.

All religions are as ancient as the first man who thought religion would put much sense in his livelihood. But religion of late has been used much as war against one another and no wonder man has lost his sense in the modern world concept of religion as a whole. Sorry. No offence mate.
