If you took the time to actually read the book you're criticizing you'd see that, right around the time that Cain and Abel are mentioned there is also mention of other groups of people. Because, a God that can create two people (how astonishing!!!!) can also create more.

No one ever claimed that the Bible was written with detail after detail. There are gray areas, especially in the beginning, oldest texts. Most people pick up on this and the "contradictions" become a whole lot less contradictory.

They had three sons, who married 'the daughters of men'. It sounds as though there were other people around. Further on it also indicates that Adam & Eve had other children.

Perhaps the Bible gives the ancestry of the middle eastern peoples; just as the flood is said to have covered 'the whole world', means the whole known world (Mediterranean basin).

After God put Adam and Eve in the garden, there is absolutely no indication of how long they stayed. It is my contention that they were there millions of years, and that evolution occurred all around them.

The Bible says that Cain was worried that people in the far away lands he was being banished to would kill him, so God gave him a mark to identify him as God's. Obviously there had to be people in other lands in order for this to be an issue.

Adam and Eve were the first people created by God in whom were breathed a soul.

Adam and Eve had many children, over a long period of time. Read the book of Genesis to find out.

It's really quite simple.Whenever you come up with a logical question which shows the bible is contradictory and full of holes,"believers" will come up with some of sort ( usually very weak ) excuse to explain it away.
Of course they can't help themselves. If they actually started thinking logically they would realise what a load of rubbish it all is.

It is absolutely incredible how each Christian gave a different explanation. All made up to help make more sense in their heads. Its no different to a child being asked a logical question about Santa Claus: Q- How does Santa get into houses without chimneys? A- Umm, umm, umm, he makes himself tiny, um, then crawls through the keyhole, then, make himself big again, yes, yes thats how he does it

It's religion. It doesn't have to make sense. Do you think they would really have gotten converts if the story was written, "And God created a bunch of people, and they lived happily ever after. The end."? No, of course not. You need characters and plots. Any contradictions will be overlooked by potential converts if the story is exciting enough.

Incest plain and simple. We are all related. If you read the old testament there were lots of moral problems in our societies and they still exist today. Supposedly humans lived to be much older then too! Inbreeding does not make for a healthy human so to speak. We are gonna have to modify or block the effects of weaker DNA to live as rugged as our ancestors.

Do you have a problem with family relations? Brothers and sisters, fathers and daughters, mothers and sons. You haven't been to Arkansas lately have you? It's Adam and Eve all over again.
