Yes I have. The one doctor added a numbing agent to the cortisone and that wasn't to bad. The other doctor didn't and the cortisone burned some and of course there is the discomfort of the needle going in. I found that the cortisone really helped the hip pain for a few months. I would do it again.

I have had them in my back. It did help on a temp basis. I had a ruptured disk and lived in pain for over a year because the insurance company would not pay for surrery until we tried other means of treatment first. I had the shots 3 of them in all. They were about a week apart. They helped me to get through the summer that year and then I had surgery in the fall to fix the disk. I hope you have good luck with the injections.

I've had them in my upper back (for Fibromyalgia), in the hips (for Arthritis) and the ankle (for a fracture). The initial relief is remarkable but not long lasting and that's too bad because if that fails you're probably on your way to a replacement of some sort. I'm facing the same dilemma...terrified of the surgery but so tired physically & mentally of the pain! I wish you well in your treatment and hopeful recovery!!
