You need to tell us more about your style, and his style. The fact that he is taller doesnt mean he is a better jabber, neither does it mean hes faster or slower. Remember this , the bigger they are , the harder they fall. I always thought a more compact boxer has a better chance against a slim , tall fighter. A lot of the boxers dont use their reach. Diego corrales fights like a small fighter he never uses his reach. Another thing, u got a lot of body to hit. I knocked out a lot of guys with a liver shot. I got it from Julio cesar chavez. Get a lil Mexican in u and try that shot . U wont regret it.

Are we talking about just the style of boxing, or mma? (mixed martial arts) I can talk strategy all day. If its boxing, quite alot goes into your strategy. Are you physically stronger, or weaker? Better conditioned, or not? Are you precise with your movements, or kind of sloppy? Develop skill. My off the cuff answer... get inside, work the body, to do that, slip inside the jab and work work work, then get out and do it again. Somewhere in there, throw the occasional uppercut or hook while your inside. MMA is what I love, but I have to employ fundamental boxing skills into my standup for sure. Good luck! Hope this gives some insight.

Usually shorter boxers try to get very close to taller opponents. It is called "getting inside". This crowding approach means the taller opponent has trouble swinging and it effectively gets rid of the taller person's reach advantage. See old tapes of Joe Frazier against Muhammad Ali to see one example.

The best way to fight a taller fighter is to crouch down from the knees( do not lean forward). Put both hands on the chin( remember he can hit you long before you can hit him.) force the tall man to lean forward to reach you. His only target is your forehead the hardest part of the body. AS he bends down to hit you drive your legs up with a hard left jab ( you have just added 10" to your reach. As the jab hits throw a hard right hand to th floating rib and then com back with a left hook to the chin. I have found that the jab comes in at such an angle that it is seldom blocked and often will blur vision if it hits the eyes. But the real secret is to make yourself a very small target tell he comes down to your size.

bigger guys are usually slower, so try to outdo him. if the boxer is bigger than you, you should be able to get in there quick and give him a quick jab or an upper cut or something along those lines. just be quick, it may take a while but you should wear him down quick enough. you can also work on his gut with some quick punches, hell back him into a corner and work on him there as much as possible then let 'em go and do it again. this will help slow him down.

somewhat, infact as a results of fact the smaller opponent tries to stay close it leaves his sides open the place the taller opponent can pound away. some very vulnerable spots there as in recent historic previous we observed Bernard Hopkins supply De l. a. Hoya the only knockout of his profession with a physique shot. In that comparable spot Arturo Ghatti "retired" Romanian fighter Leonard Dorin. no count number what the size the physique is the substantial.

You would have to get inside his jab. Also you would need to bring him down to your level and perhaps engage him in a brawl, staying close on the inside, roughing him up. It may not work if he is too superior...he may be too good for you, whatever tactics you use...in that case, see answer 1.

Kick him in the nads. It may not be allowed in the rules (or indeed the spirit of the game) but if you do it right, he won't be able to complain to the ref.
