Can you take all 3 together? I broke out in hives from something (we're not sure yet) and this is what I was given. I couldn't find anything specific on the web...

Actually, that is quite common in hives- it is often necessary to double or triple the normal amount of antihistamines to control them. Hives are suppressed by ant-histamines and then will eventually go away.

Take the benadryl first.

I would not take all three of these medications together. It's way too much.

Benadryl will neutralize the allergic reaction in your bloodstream.
Zyrtec and Allegra are for everyday outdoor and environmental allergies.

If you still are not too certain, call a pharmacist and get their opinion.
Hope you feel better.

I would cut out the benadryl and substitute claritin instead. I have taken up to nine pills (3 in the morning, 3 at lunch and 3 at night- and this was in the fifth grade!) a day of combinations of claritin, zyrtec and allegra with no side effects for my hives, but it gets kind of tiresome. It would be better to stop medication and try and find out what you are allergic to in the first place. With hives, it could be food allergies or skin irritants like dyes.

You can't take so many meds together, especially the same "Family of meds". Benadryl works though on its own. There isn't really a way to get rid of hives, they are mysterious. I get them on my chest because of sensitive skin from surgery. No real reason at all, all factors the same. My skin was peeled off and put back on, so it is now just sensitive, although I can still feel it because it wasn't cut off entirely.

I wouldn't take those two together however I know from my allergist that it's safe to take Alavert with one or the other. I take Alavert in the morning and Benadryl at night every day and night.
