i will pray to god that he/she holds him in his/her hands for comfort and rejuvination.
it's hard to see someone so strong, so 'bigger than life' become frail, i understand, but we were not meant to be here for ever. god wants us home (just like mom and dad do) with him/her. please, lord, don't let this man and his family suffer too badly. they seem like a good , honest, 'god-fearing' family who love their family leader. take him into your hands and hold them close to your heart. let them feel your warmth and love. and keep them there untill they are healed. thanks god - you're the man/woman!

My mother recently had her leg amputated due to her diabetes.
I found comfort in my atheism because I wasn't wracking my brain trying to work out why some God chartacter was doing this. My mother has diabetes and she lost her leg as a result. It's a perfectly natural situation and we just have to deal with it as a family. The human love in our family will be enough to cope with this. It's ridiculous how much pain religious people put themselves through...trying to reconcile people's suffering with the supposed moral nature of their God. You cannot reconcile the too because there is no moral force out there looking after you. It's a childish fantasy that hurts it's believers. Our family can cope much bettter with life's difficulties than religious people can.

I am only a kid. (homeshooled) I go to church, but I can't do much. But God can. Get some of the elders of your church to lay hands on him. But I will try to remember to pray.

Yes. God wants all of us to be in good health. I will be praying.

No. Prayer doesn't do anything.

I do hope your dad does well, but there's really nothing much else we can do. Your doctors have a better handle on the situation. They can do more for your dad than a million people praying.

sometimes we must think, is it better to have the person alive or is it better for them to stop suffering. I feel your sorrow about your father and I hope that his suffering ends soon. good luck and I hope you find peace.
