They're great fun dogs. Very owner protective. Lazy but enjoy small toys. Love to nap, I've had 4 through my life, all having those characteristic.
Fun game...get someone to smack you lightly (like on the leg or arm) in front of the dog and the dog will go nuts barking and trying to defend you. Hilarious.

Yorkes are wonderful pets! They attach easily to their owners, are very playful, and have a great sense of humor. But with a yorke you need to make routine visits to your vet. They sometimes are very delicate dogs that need a little different care. Any puppy (especially small breeds) you need to be aware of hypoglycemia ( a drop in blood sugar). Make sure to keep out dry food all the time and that he/she is eating regularly. They are also very hyper dogs so they will require extra food at intervals to keep up their energy. Some have some slight skin conditions that a good shampoo from your vet will keep at bay. Congratulations on your puppy, I know you will love it and have a wonderful time, but just remember that a good vet for your dog is just as important as having a good Dr. for yourself.

i have a yorkie named "max" . he is 14 yrs. old and the most wonderful pet anyone could ask for. from the day i took him home he has been a joy !!! his temperment is wonderful - never ever snapped at anyone. don't know how much longer he will be with me but i can tell you this - there will never be another "max".

i love yorkies there the best dog ever they will defend you no matter what, i have always had yorkies the one i have now is so small and bless her she has no teeth either, but she is my little baby.
