to be totally into yourself,
it is usually a sign of an empty emotional life and of serious insecurity. If it way out of control then you should see a therapist, but before that just try to get in touch with yourself and see why you feel so empty

Narcissism describes the character trait of self love.

The word is derived from Greek mythology. Narcissus was a handsome Greek youth who rejected the desperate advances of the nymph Echo. As a punishment, he was doomed to fall in love with his own reflection in a pool of water. Unable to consummate his love, Narcissus pined away and changed into the flower that bears his name, the narcissus.

Freud believed that some narcissism is an essential part of all of us from birth.

Andrew Morrison claims that, in adults, a reasonable amount of healthy narcissism allows the individual's perception of his need to be balanced in relation to others.

In psychology and psychiatry, excessive narcissism is recognized as a severe personality dysfunction or personality disorder, most characteristically Narcissistic Personality Disorder, also referred to as NPD.

The terms Narcissism, Narcissistic and Narcissist are often used denoting vanity, conceit, egotism or simple selfishness. Applied to a social group, it is sometimes used to denote elitism or an indifference to the plight of others.

Everyone has some degree of narcissism. However, narcissism can also manifest, in an extreme pathological form, in some personality disorders such as the Narcissistic Personality Disorder wherein the patient overestimates his abilities and has an excessive need for admiration and affirmation. This is present to such a degree that it severely damages the person's ability to live a productive or happy life because the traits manifest as severe selfishness and disregard for the needs and feelings of others.

Narcissism
Excessive interest in oneself.
Should it be treated? All depends on if you want to live in the real world and associate with other people. You could without treatment become an actor or politician.
Treatment? I haven't a clue.

Narcisism is basically self love - not necessarily dangerous unless it leads you to drown yourself accidentally while gazing upon your own reflection in a pool of water.
here's a wikipedia article:

Narcissism is named after Narcissus, and both derive from the Greek word narke "numb" from which we also get the word narcotic. Thus for the Greeks Narcissus stood for vanity, callousness and insensitivity, as he was emotionally numb to the entreaties of those who fell in love with his beauty,

It is being very into one's self. Like self-obsession. It should be treated if it interfers with one's life and relationships with others. Counselling or therapy would be a good option.
