You don't feed kittens puppy food unless you are asking when do you start feeding kittens and puppies solid food. Then the answer is you can start moistening a good quality kitten or puppy food at 4 weeks of age and introduce them to it. This doesn't mean they are to be weaned at this age. They still need mother's milk till at least 8 weeks of age or longer.

Don't feed a kitten puppy food or vise versa. Cats need taurine a nutrient not found in dog food and dogs can gain a lot of weight eating cat food.

You should never feed a kitten on solid puppy food. But if you mean when can you feed a kitten solid cat food, then I would say that about 6 months is a good time.

My kitten has been introduced to solid food while she was still with her mother at 8-9 wks old. Check with the previous owner what has she/he has been feeding with as if you start feeding it with Whiskas and it was fed on Sciance Plan , than it's band to have bad tummy( personal experiance as I have a kitten of 12 wks old)!!! Whiskas is far too rich for kittens and its not good at all!! As recommended by my Vet the best food its Sciance Plan Wet and dry food and Iams dry!!!

You Can start feeding kittens, and puppies at about 6 weeks.Start off by getting them to drink milk from a bowl, just drip their face gently into the milk, when they get a taste they will start to eat.

When they've been weaned. Puppies and kittens shouldn't be weaned before 10 weeks. Then they can have their shots and start on puppy/kitten food. Start them on soft, canned food until they start to lose their milk teeth...then they'll enjoy chewing on the dry food.

I have raised puppies and kittens. I had to hand feed one of my akc puppies. You start feeding soft food when they get they start getting their teeth in an same goes for water-and milk. You can start them out on hard dog food about 6 weeks. Mix it up with the soft dog food. You don't want to give them cat food cause it will cause worms. Bad enough they are born with them. Same goes for cats you don't want to feed them dog food. You can't give them bath neither until they are about six weeks old. Cause it cause them distemper. You can't use flea powder or spray on them when they are young . about 12 weeks when you can use them. You can use a small amount of baby oil. The baby will smother the fleas and ticks but it won't completely get rid of them. But it relieve them for a little bit. You can get flea spray from your vet. But its a little high.

Do not feed your cats dog food. It is not nutritionally balanced for them, and they may eventually go blind due to lack of taurine (a mineral element). Stick to cat or kitten food.
