Here's my suggestions for each style of beer.
Stout: Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout. THis beer is one of my favorite stouts.
Wheat/Hefeweizens: Bell's Oberon. Very Excellent
India Pale Ale: Dogfishhead 90 minute IPA
Pale Ale: Three Floyds Alpha King
Doppelbock: Celebrator. One of my favorite beers of all time
Belgium: La Chouffe. You can't beat any beer made by monks from Belgium.
Octoberfest: Spaten Oktoberfest. Amazing!!!
Over-the-top high alcohol beer: Dogfishhead 120 minute IPA. 22% alcohol!!
Everyday tasty ale: Newcastle
Everyday american macro: Just buy some Miller High Life or Pabst's.
Other notables to include: Goose Island, Anchor Steam, and anything out of the Sam Adams sampler pack.

I've tried the Dupont and enjoyed it a lot. It's dry, hoppy and yeasty I would of thought more a summer drink. what about Leffe Radieuse more complex fruity/spicey flavour than the blonde or bruin. I like it better than their Triple. Souldn't be too expensive Schneider Weisse is a great german wheat beer but get the cloudy not kristall (filtered) version or if you can find it their Aventinus (wheat double bock) is extremely good Liefmans make very good fruit flavoured beer Kriek (with cherries) and Framboise ( wonderfully sour raspberry flavour-but again more of a summer drink I think) They do a "Gluhkriek" which is served warm Chimay Blue or Cinq Cents in 750ml corked bottles are excellent English ale Shepard's Neame Spitfire -light, firm, dry excellent hop flavour Bateman's XXXB- classic bitter Wadsworth 6X Badger Brewery's Tanglefoot are all excellent

Oh baby my favorite subject! lol
Try "Hoegarten". It's a Belgian white beer. Very different taste from the usual barley stuff we drink because it's made from wheat. Deeeelish!!! Serve w/ thin orange slices or lemon slices.
Sapporo. Either tall silver cans or brown bottles. Japanese beer. Very crisp. Goes great w/ munchies.
ANYTHING by "Magic Hat" Brewery out of Burlington, VT. Hopefully you can get it. Every 1 of their beers rocks. They have everything from pilsner to amber to stout & a bunch of stuff in between.
Have Guinness & Bass available @ the same time so you can make yer friends "Black & Tans". Y'know... pour the Bass in up to 1/2 way, then slowly pour Guiness over the back of a large spoon into glass until full. The 2 colors/beers should stay separate.
For laughs, have a "Low Budget" sampler... w/ stuff like Pabst Blue Ribbon, Schlitz, Keystone light, etc. lol Yer friends will get a kick out of it. ENJOY!!! :)

I would include something seasonal - Pumpkin Ale or Oktoberfest (a few different brands make each).
Other suggestions (depending on your location and availability):
Sam Adam's Cherry Wheat
Hoegarden
Butternuts Heifeweizen
Ithaca Apricot Ale
an Oatmeal stout (any brand)
Blue Moon

Try mead. It is a honey-based beverage. You might check with a local tavern that specializes in beers.

This is a link to the Flying Saucer. Click on the Beer link and it will tell you a little about each beer.
Have fun!

Huckleberry Beer, it might be hard to get a hold of quickly, but it should be worth it.
