My grandma, who was diabetic, had cataract surgery and it left no bruising at all. She said is was tender for a couple days but that was it.

Odds are the cataract surgery won't leave bruises, but bring up your concerns with your doc, that is what we pay them for.

I have had cataract surgery in both of my eyes. I had improved vision that same day, because my one eye was so cloudy, You have to go back and see your eye surgeon the next day to be checked out, make sure you wear sunglasses because your eyes will be sensitive to light...No eye makeup for about a week, but that was the extent of it. It was actually pretty easy, you will have to use a few different eye drops for a few weeks, but I would say by the time your wedding is here you will be just fine, and be able to see everything going on.....Good Luck, and Congratulations on your wedding.

Oh, the surgery is very easy. I had a very mild anesthetic and was awake really fast, no side effects from the anesthetic.

I had cataract operations in both eyes. The first one had problems due to negligence (a wound to my cornea caused by a lab coat) - something that is very unsual - but the second one went like clockwork, and I experienced no pain at all, and only a slight reddening of the eye for a couple of days.

PS: Kaas's comment is completely wrong, from beginning to end.

well u need to undergo a lazer surgery for the catract to be removed.....and after the surgery the person is expected not to have a glimps of light...for atleast a month and half one needs to be careful...even head bath should be avoided wetting of head should be avoided for a month, the diet should be such that u dont strain even a single nerve on u r jaws as it is connected to the eyes..u should not cry nor wash u r face particularly u r eyes should be kept dry or the chances of the lense loosing it position is high....in short u can get married after a month after u r surgery but u need to be very careful with u r eyes for a period of 3 months to be able to come out normally and be normal!....however it varies from person to person depending on the intensity of the problem!...goodluck

My father had the surgery, it was a outpatient procedure, within a week he was able to remove the bandages. No scars and this was 10 years ago. So with today's technology I'm sure you will be ok, since they do most things with laser now. Good luck!
