Commonsense has to prevail here. His mother, Mary, obviously knew. But the Bible says virtually nothing about Jesus until the incident of him going missing and then being found in the temple, discussing religious matters with the older men. If Jesus had known then he was the promised Messiah, it could have put undue pressure on him. As a perfect person, born without inherited sin, he would not have suffered childhood sicknesses like other children of his day. And yet, he stayed a humble son of a modest family. Obeying both his parents and doing this from the age of 12 right up to the age of thirty, when he was baptized. The Bible does not say if Jesus knew his reason for his existence, but if he did, he would really have to be perfect to keep 'mum' about it for so long.
It would have been easier for Jesus NOT to have known, right up to time he was baptized. Then, when the Holy Spirit descended on him
his ' eyes would have been opened' and he would have had the full knowledge of his mission. We may never know.

Jesus certainly knew when He went to the temple as a twelve year old. Imagine going through life knowing it was going to end the way it did. Imagine having the power to prevent it at any time, but never using that power, because if you did you would be denying all of humanity the chance to have Eternal Life.

No one knows for sure.
He did know by the age of 12 when he was found in the Temple and he said to Mary and Joseph, "Why were you looking for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father's house?" (Luke 2:49)
Anne Rice wrote a very good but fictional book about the childhood of Jesus, "Christ the Lord, Out of Egypt."
With love in Christ.

That is a question you may find out "if" you get to Heaven. Why not study the Bible to find out HOW to get to Heaven. Getting to Heaven is much more important than satisfying your curiosity.
In fact, to me, it is so important to get to Heaven that I won't rely on someones opinion of what is needed to get there and spend eternity in happiness rather than in Hell forever. I have found that it is much better to read for myself in the Bible what Jesus actually said instead of what someone says He said.
As you read the Bible, ask God to help you understand it and try to put it into practice in your life. Overtime, using this process you will come to know for yourself what scripture says and what it means. But don't wait too long. Jesus may return sooner than some people expect.
God bless you.

Jesus knew it. If you look in Luke, it seemed a bit of a surprise when young Jesus wasn't with His parents on the way home. His folks found Him in the temple. and He said that He had to be about His Fathers business.

Jesus just knew. Read the following Scripture from Luke 2:
46 And it happened that after three days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both hearing them and questioning them.
47 And all who heard Him were astonished at His understanding and answers.
48 And seeing Him, they were amazed. And His mother said to Him, Child, why have you done so to us? Behold, your father and I have looked for you, greatly distressed.
49 And He said to them, Why did you look for Me? Do you not know that I must be about My Father's business?
50 And they did not understand the word which He spoke to them.
as you see in verse 50, his parents didn't know what he was referring to when He spoke of His "Father's Business"

God is all-knowing. No one has to tell him anything. Although he came into this world a human baby having to go through all the human experiences, he was still and is 100% God.

Um, he always knew. One day he shocked his mom by saying something about his "Father in Heaven". This was when he was just a little boy.
