That is really sweet of you, your mum is very lucky. You could try a price comparison site like Kelkoo, you can put in your specifications and price range and it will give you a variety of options, and you can find the cheapest place to buy from.

Have a look on the major stores websites (Currys, Argos etc) to find one you like the look of. Then note the make/model and see where you can get the best price on the pricerunner website. A gas cooker has to be put in by a CORGI registered gasperson so that would add about £30-£40 to the cost if you got one of those. Your mum should be proud to have such a considerate child- what a nice thing to do!

It's great that you want to buy your mum such a lovely present. However I really think you should discuss this with her first as she may not want the cheapest cooker in her kitchen. She might be willing to put in the extra amount to get the cooker she really wants. You need to bear in mind that most people keep their cookers for around 10 years before changing them and with these things you really get what you pay for. If it is a gas one you will need to arrange a Corgi registered installer to connect the gas supply which will probably add an extra £100 to the price. www.currys.co.uk has a good selection with the cheapest of gas and electric being around £130 with £20 delivery (500mm width). You will need to check if there is an extra charge to remove your existing cooker.

That's nice of you. Are you sure you can get either Gas or Electric? Get the same type you already have otherwise you could be up for a lot of money to get it installed.
One more point....are you sure she wants one?
I have a cooker and I bought one of those George Foreman grills...they're excellent and I do a lot of my cooking on it now. Drains off all the fat from meat and it's an excellent addition to my kitchen. Just something else for you to think of.

You will get a nice slimline cooker with ceramic hobs from Curry's, Comet, Argos or most multiple retailer.

Go into a couplre of the main electrical stores and tell them how much you want to spend and how wide it can be. The staff will be able to tell and show you what they have got. They will also arrange for the delivery as well.

Check out eBay too, there are a lot of dealers selling new cookers as well as people selling expensive cookers they never used at bargain prices.
