There is no “best” strategy – if there were, then everyone would do the same thing. The only real winning strategy when playing Roulette is to play the odds. But that is also assuming you have an infinite amount with which to play. To win consistently, bet on a colour. To win big, bet on a number. To increase your odds, play European rather than American roulette, which slightly favours the player over the House.

If you must play roulette, do these three things:
1) Play at a single-0 table, not a double-0 table; playing at a single-0 table halves the house advantage over the double-0 table.
2) Stick to the even-money bets (reb/black, odd/even, high/low); the house advantage on these bets is the lowest at the table.
3) Establish a stop/loss strategy -- and stick to it!

For more detail, read the article that I've written about roulette:

Best of luck!

Simple question, simple answer. Long story short - you will lose. Let's take your series that will cause you to lose: "RED, RED, BLACK, BLACK, RED, RED, BLACK, BLACK". That is a very specific 8-number series. The question is, "What are the odds that this specific series will happen?!?" The answer is, this will happen approximately 1 out of 395 times. What about any other "RED/BLACK" sequence of 8??? How about "RED, RED, RED, RED, RED, RED, RED, RED"? Any guesses? If you guess approximately 1 out of 395 times, you'd be right! "BLACK, BLACK, BLACK, BLACK, BLACK, BLACK, BLACK, BLACK"??? Same. It doesn't matter what that little midget under the table has to do. He WILL do it once in a while to beat you! So let's make sure this will lose. 1 out of 395 doesn't sound like you'll be losing all that often! The problem is, HOW MUCH will you lose when you DO lose?!? Let's stick with the traditional Martingale System. Let's just bet $1 to start to keep the calculations simple. Every time your "system" works, you'll make $1. So out of the 395 tries, you'll WIN 394 of them, and you'll only lose once. (The real catch is, you never know when you'll lose! You COULD lose on the very first time you try this!) So winning 394 times gives you a profit of $394. How much will you LOSE if you hit that "RED, RED, BLACK, BLACK, RED, RED, BLACK, BLACK"? Well you start with $1 and lose. Go to $2 and lose. $4, lose. $8, lose. $16, lose. $32, lose. $64, lose. $128, lose. And finally, on the 8th spin, you bet $256 and cross your fingers. You lose! Add it all up. You lose $511. So for every 395 spins, you will WIN $394, and LOSE $511. Net loss = $117. Hmm....maybe that Albert Einstein knew what he was talking about. You have NOT, nor will you EVER figure something out that nobody on this whole planet hasn't figured out yet about any way to beat this game. Try to beat roulette at your peril.

Play 3 chips at a time, placing 1 in each third, on 4 corners.

There is NO such thing as strategy when dealing with games of chance. The only sure thing is that you are either you are likely to come out on the short end of things.

I usually win with about 10-15 chips down on the board, placing them so you can get about 4 numbers with one chip. Yes, it pretty much covers the board, but you do end up winning or at least breaking even. Also add a couple chips on the "whole" numbers, your lucky numbers, just for added fun.

Bet $5. if you win, start over with another $5. If you lose, double your bet. Keep going until you win, then start over again with a $5 bet.
