It doesn't look like anyone's going to treat me to dinner, so I am going to splurge on myself. Any good suggestions on what I should treat myself to? I'm leaning towards a good prime steak dinner.

First and foremost HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

I was born and raised outside of Chicago and now I live in Ohio. Some of the places I try and go too when I go home (outside of SuperDawgs) are...

For good Cuban food go to Cafe Laguardia in Bucktown (NW side) is very good. www.cafelaguardia.com/

For another laid back, but fun place try Piece (thin crust pizza, I know we love deep dish too but give it a shot). Its on North Ave

And for dessert hit up the Chicago Chocolate Cafe

I know that my options are not steak per se, but both have good steak options on the menu. Have fun and enjoy your day!! If you get time head to the Art Institute, I always have a ball there...

Any place where they have a bar that you could eat at Like Steak and Ale or Joe's Crab Shack. That way you don't have to eat alone. And they both have nice steaks. Don't know if you are married or not but you might meet an interesting person!!! Have a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

happy birthday. call somebody and take them out for your birthday. yes, the cheesecake factory is outstanding as well as bubba gumps. chicago is a great city with all the museums and michigan mile, and navy pier with the most spectacular stained glass collection that ive ever seen and its free. rent one of those stand up motorized skooters and try something absolutely different and fun. who knows who you will meet in that city and maybe you wont. but there is way too much to see and do on a small budget. im from boston and think that chicago is awesome.

Depending on where you are in the city, my favorites steak places are Gibsons, Mortons, Chicago Prime. Get yourself a big fat steak and glass of wine and enjoy your birthday!

Happy Birthday. Treat yourself to where ever you enjoy going when you are with someone. There is nothing wrong in dining alone.

Well...first : have a wonderful b-day! I would take ya anywhere you'd wanna go...but putting myself in your shoes, I'll just go out and have me a nice dinner, then a movie- or, perhaps go ice skating. I dunno...just play out your day as it comes and smile.
