Ive had it and I am female..big surpise, Im not even a jock. The doctor gave me some cream at first, I used it for one month and it did not go away. Then the doctor gave me antibiotics and it cleared up with in a week. GET the antibiotics, also keep the area dried out and clean, and do not use the same towel you use on your feet on your crotch.

The condition you have is called Tinea Cruris, commonly known as jock itch, and it is a ringworm of the groin caused by a mold-like fungus called dermatophytes.

Go to this site and type "jock itch" into the Search window:

Also, there's lot's of information here:

You say you've seen a doctor which means you're probably using a prescribed medication to get rid of it....
An over-the-counter treatment that works is Tinactin...
here's some information about jock itch from their site:

Good luck!

The prescription medication that has really helped my jock itch is a cream called Clotrimazole 1%. It is an antifungal medication that can be used for similar conditions anywhere on your body. Get your doctor to give you a prescription for it.

Be sure to keep yourself clean and dry.

Use a nonprescription antifungal powder or lotion, such as Micatin or Lotrimin AF. Use the medication for 1 to 2 weeks after the symptoms clear up to prevent recurrence.

keep the area as clean and as dry as possible. When you can..."air out" the area. Try to stay away from tight clothing.
If it continues to get worse, go back to your doc...you might need a different med or cream.
