A doll house might be nice or a learning game. Walmart has some read-a-long books that might catch her attention. I have this problem every year for my neice. She usually gets something along the line of a learning toy thats just a tad beyond her so that she can enjoy it later in the year.

Polly pocket is always a good idea. I love playing with my daughter's Polly pockets with her!! She got her first set at age 4. Dressing up clothes are good, Asda sell some reasonably priced ones and so do Pound shops!!! Books are great, my daughter has always loved a bedtime story and any kind of Toy shop or cafe will go down well!!!!

i have a 5 year old daughter and i was thinking of getting her a sylvanian family house http://sylvanianfamilies.com or baby born. these are good toys as you can add to them and any relatives who are stuck what to buy can buy the accessories for birthdays and christmas.
then for smaller presents i just buy cheap things like books, arts and crafts, cheap jewellery, board games etc.....
or alternatively give her the argos book and ask her write a christmas list for 'santa' then you'll have an idea what she likes!

Every little girl loves doll houses, there is a vast array on the market, I am thinking of getting my daughter (3) a playmobil house, they are quite pricey but will last a lifetime and the range of items you can get is amazing. (Look on E-bay)

A sledge. Ever kid needs a sledge - and a parent to take them out for the day. Give her your time, that is the most valuable thing.
