Lumps around the navel could be anything, from subcutaneous lipomas, to neurofibroma, or neurolipofibroma. It could also mean secondaries, but quite rare for a thyroid to lead to secondaries around the navel.

A fine needle aspiration biopsy should be carried out. In this process a small bit of the tissue is collected by a fine needle syringe through aspiration. The lab can thereafter tell you for sure what the tissue is made up of and are there any secondaries involved. Please go in for this painless and a 2 minutes procedure at the earliest so that the results are known within a week and thereafter you can relax in peace, or take corrective action. Best luck.
