i think it is. if you believe in god, then take from that belief what you want to, you dont need to follow a strict set of belief rules. if you want to believe in evolution (which makes total sense!) then do so. i suggest that you read into natural selection etc.. and make your own mind up, and dont let anyone tell you what you should and should not think. (although i will tell you that dinosaurs existed i cannot force you to believe it)

the words in the beginning do not necessarily mean when everything was created the very first time. More likely it means when this creation we live in today was initiated. There was an asteroid hit earth wipping out Dinosaurs and most if not all life which lived here prior to the arrival of that asteroid. Then the earth was void and without form etc. and the new creation began. The beginning of this earth as we know it was that beginning. The hit by the asteroid no doubt caused a lot of darkness, the time the earth took to turn on it's axis was changed, perhaps even the moon was affected. The atmosphere was no doubt different. Look at as the beginning the sequal.

I think we HAVE to believe in both
There is proof of dinosaurs in bones that have been found.
Any intelligent person can look around and see proof of the existence of God. Only a closed minded person can look at all that has been created and say, " I still doubt there is a God".
The disappearance of the dinosaurs could have many explanations.....one of which could be the flood.
Expert HAVE found that most oil reserves are located in low lying areas of the world, you know such as what would happen as water recede and leave debris in the lower sections.

Of course it is... how can one disprove the other? As far as I'm aware, the dinosaurs did not discover evidence that God does not exist and have it interred with their bones, nor does any religious text state that if you find a load of skeletal remains of large prehistoric creatures, they weren't dinosaurs because there is no such thing!
if what you mean is does evolution prove the non existence of God, then there is no clean cut answer. It proves that the date of the world's creation as calculated by the bible is grossly inaccurate. It proves that the literal meaning of the bible's account of how life on Earth began is wrong. However, most religious people chose to believe that their religious texts regarding creation are allegorical - a way of explaining things in a prescientific world - but that God is the power behind all the science.
What you choose to believe is entirely up to you, but if you choose to not believe in dinosaurs, then you are wrong, and quite frankly, a bit thick.

Yes. Not all parts of the bible are to be taken literally. I do not believe that creation took place over a literal 7 days. I know that God exists, but also that dinosaurs were real. I don't believe that the two are mutually exclusive. Why would a world created by God not have dinosaurs?

I assume you are talking about the God of the Bible?
Yes, God created Dinosaurs. There are two creatures mentioned in Job 39 and 40 respectively, the Behemoth and the Leviathan which probably refer to some sort of Dinosaurs.

Laura b,
Yes, if you have an open mind. They are both a reality. Who would think an atom, so small it cannot be seen, would be the most powerful force on the planet? Does that make sense? I hope this simple comparison demonstrates that it is possible to believe in both God and Dinosaurs. God bless you.

it is not a big deal Laura if you consider the truth.
In fact, I think the great dinosaurs (such as the t-rex) were here perhaps millions of years before man came on the scene. The Bible supplies no proof of this, but there are ways of understanding the creation narrative that permit this view. Here's one of them:
The original creation is described in Gen. 1:1. The six days described in subsequent verses may have taken place millions or even billions of years after the original creation. In other words, God made the universe billions of years ago. He put all kinds of creatures, including dinosaurs, on this planet. The earth, at that time and for millennia to follow, was "without form and void"---i.e., not fit to serve as a habitat for mankind. So, at some point, perhaps millions of years after a comet hit the earth, destroying the dinosaurs and filling the atmosphere with debris and causing unparalleled catastrophic events such as massive tsunamis and earthquakes and flooding of huge land masses, God began clearing away the debris from the atmosphere allowing sunlight to pass through---"Let there be light." He caused further atmospheric changes---"Thus God made the firmament." He caused the submerged land to rise up out of the waters, thus forming the oceans and the great land masses---"Let the waters...be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear." And on it goes. On the sixth day, He made man in His image and after His likeness and gave him dominion over all the earth and its many creatures.

Look I guess this question is about creationism V science. Step 1 decouple god from the bible or any other "teachings".
Gods existence or non existence is not contingent on any book it just becomes a potential philosophical outcome. Dinosaurs on the othe hand are found in the fossil record.
One simplistic way to view God is the so called contingency arguement. EG your existence is contingent on your mother and fathers. Extarpolate this back as far as you can and eventually you will reach a non-contingent entity that is one whos existence is not reliant on anothers. So in short it is very easy to believe in A God and dinosaurs.

The dinosaurs died in the flood created by God!
It's possible to believe in both, you might not necessarily be right though.
