Hi Mikey, I am a nurse and you don't have the flu honey. You have a stomach virus. Your main concern is dehydration. An adult has to "barf" for quite awhile before they dehydrate(it takes small children less time to dehydrate). A virus, unfortunately has to run it's course. The best thing you can do is to NOT put anything in your stomach until it settles down. It is irritated and unfortunately again, throwing up is the body's way of trying to rid itself of the irritant. If you just can't stand it or if your mouth and the inside of your eyelids(mucous membranes) get really dry and you feel really weak. You can go to the ER or your doc and get a shot or some suppositories to stop the vomiting. When you have not thrown up for three to four hours, try drinking some Sprite, sips only at first, if that stays down for thirty minutes or so with no nausea, drink a little more. You will feel better in a few hours. It's yuk, I know, hope you are better soon.
P.S. I can just about promise you it's NOT Typhoid fever!!!!

Well mikey,
Dont be alarmed there my friend, this is just due to the season change, as the climate changes so do our bodies, some of us can handle the climate change and dont get sick, and the unlucky ones like yourself and my boyfriend cant handle the climate change and get sick. The answer, Many many teas, green tea, peppermint, camomile, LEMON(with abit of sugar its nice), take vitamin c tablets or even better, get the real stuff from an orange, or a kiwi fruit(one small kiwi fruit contalins 100%of our daily need for vitamin c, cool ha?)eat soup and finally have a really hot bath to sweat all the virus out,it works, keep warm and under a blanket, rugup if you have to go out, and you'l be fine in no time :)
get well

Flu usually manifest with fever, cough or colds, muscle pains. Some illness may have the same presentation .
Increase your fluid intake, water or juice can help. If you have fever, take Paracetamol every 4 hours. If the discharge coming from the nose is whitish or the phlegm is whitish, it is just viral, you dont need any antibiotic. Decongestant is needed only is your nose is clogged and you are having difficulty in breathing. If your nasal discharge or phlegm is greenish or yellowish, it is bacterial you will have to consult a doctor who will be giving you antibiotic.
However, if high grade fever persist for more than 3 days. Consult your doctor to rule out other causes like typhoid fever, pneumonia or bronchitis, urinary tract infection and other causes.

The flu causes nausea? Well this is new.
Try a chemist and ask them. There should be some 24 hour chemists around, but I'd advise you to drop by during the day and pick some tablets up in case you get sick later on.
