Sleepwalking disorder is the repeated act of getting out of bed and wandering around. This normally occurs during the first third part of the sleep cycle. The person is characterized by having a blank stare, is basically unresponsive to others, and will be difficult to wake. They can at times perform complex functions such as unlocking doors. The person will have no memory of the episode.

Not me personally, but my aunt has always been a sleepwalker and lots of family members have stories about her. Once when she was a teen-ager and slept in the bed with my mother, they found her in the garden eating a watermelon with her hands and she never woke up. Once my mother woke up to find her gone from the bed and everyone got up to search and they found her hanging on the rim with her entire upper body in the well. That was scary. Her husband tells about one time when he woke to find her missing and when he found her, she was sitting outside eating a candy bar that she had to drive to the store to get !!!! She is in her 60's now, but she still has occasional sleepwalking events. One Christmas a couple of years ago, she got up during the night before and put the Christmas turkey in the oven on 500 degrees and by the time her husband got up, it was burned to a crisp. Lots more stories, but those are the best ones.

I used to sleepwalk when I was younger, I would wake up somewhere different from where I fell asleep and have no recollection of it at all. Other than that nothing too bazzar that I know of, apparently I have talked in my sleep too.

Yes, when I was little (8 or 9), my mother found me in the dark bathroom, in the bathtub, with water running, in my pajamas. When she asked what I was doing, I just said "What do you THINK I'm doing ??! !" I found out this incident the next morning. I would never have used that tone of language with my mother if I had been awake!
