You havent got OCD..you are the same as me..Clean & Very tidy!! Its worse when you have 3 kids as I'm constantly picking things up, wiping them over...just concern they dont get a broken neck or diahorrea really innit.
Happy cleaning :D

Oh, I totally agree with you. I keep saying I'm a Mom, not a Maid! However, probably the same with you - it's not that it's not clean, it's that it's cluttered - which is fine. I guess I've learned that I handle things better two different ways - depending upon my own mood. Sometimes I go on a 'spree' and clean til I can't move my arms any more. Most of the time, though, I've learned to discipline myself a bit better and do things in 15-20 minute segments. And make lists, that helps me. For example, this morning I will clean the shelves in the bathroom. (Not the whole bathroom). This afternoon, I will pair socks if I get a chance to sit down and watch some tv, and later clean the dining room a bit while I make dinner.

Many of the things you describe are not usually done every day by most people, but only once or twice a week. You don't say how long you clean during the day or how large a home you clean, so from what you wrote it is hard to say if this is OCD, but someone who cares about you sees something disturbing. Do you feel, for example, that you MUST start cleaning by 9AM? If you must vary your schedule, does this greatly upset you? Do you re-clean things you just cleaned?

What could it hurt to discuss this with a health care professional or counsellor? If it's perfectly normal, you can share that with your boyfriend, and if it is OCD, you can get help. OCD often has a chemical cause and can be made much more manageable.

Hi Stacey - this sounds a lot for a DAILY routine, but certainly not an OCD kinda cleaning. However, you cant have time for anything else with this level of cleaning every day, so make sure its not intruding on your living. If, for example, you cant go on a lunch date with a mate because youre busy bleaching the loo, then I think you may need to get some help. however at the moment Id just say youre a VERY clean woman lol! PS I dont even do this once a WEEK let alone a day, but my house is by no means dirty!! :O)

Well yes i have to agree that you may be over doing it to some degree. sometimes people experience some kind of OCD when stressed about life. It's good to be clean etc but maybe you need to chill out on the cleaning and focus your energy on other activities, get out of the house have some fun and spend time with your boyfriend doing stuff together with and without the kids.
you need other ways to destress instead of cleaning routine daily. Average person does not clean daily unless there is some underlying issue that is not being addressed. Get some counselling to help you find out what it really is before your cleaning obsession damages your relationships. trust me i once had ocd of a different kind (not cleaning) and it can drive you and others nuts. x o

I don't think u have OCD.
I have been getting up early doing wash and while the wash is going i clean the kitchen after breakfast.
After picking up, beds are made.
Vacuum is out and whole house is done at least once or twice a week, sometimes three times.
I use fabreeze too after two dogs leave, I want the house to smell good again.

A cleaning routine? Why oh why?
All I can say is, when you look back on your life in later years would you prefer to remember a clean house or a full life?
Life's too short to spend a whole day cleaning - and so unnecessarily.

I sympathise with you, if you want to have a clean and tidy house, then you have to do the work. With children and dogs and the children's friends not to mention a husband and his `football` friends. You do have your work cut out., but it is better to have a clean home instead of a messy tip of a place.
