In German I was told arschgefichtessiebmonatenkind which means someone who takes unborn babies up the gary glitter..
Can anyone corroborate these, and tell me the worst in other languages - I have looked at insultmonger.com but it doesn't tell me which one is regarded as the worst.......

in Orissa, India, as well as in some related languages like Bengali I think MUNDHO KARAPP is the worst. it means kind of that your brain (mundho means head) is broken (karapp). Another is Badmas, it means rascal, but it's not too bad.

Japanese has some interesting words for functions and body parts but when it comes to insults saying that someone is out of their league or doesn't know their place is the worst you can do them. I will give one example as I don't think that there will be much interest in insults that are so different from our own. In sumo there is a ring that we could say is like your place for that contest. If you didn't know the boundries of it and you stepped outside that would make you a manuke or someone who is out of bounds.

dutch is right, spelling is wrong i think. second is right though. My favourite Dutch one is eikel. It means acorn and refers to a dick head. In Flemish dialect they would say achterlijke which means retard.
As for the worst, i think it's a personal thing. if you was to say teringlijer to some Dutch they would look at you as if you were an eikel and the rest would go over their head.
The average Dutchman/woman does not comprehend the severity of the S*T word either. I was sitting on a early morning train once with commuters and spilled my thermos flask of coffee all over the place. needles to say the S*T word escaped my lips if for no other reason that it was my breakfast coffee and i was on a 21/2 hour train journey. People started laughing in a nice manner after my exclamation and i just sat there gobsmacked. It really confused me to be honest.

I could tell you some gems, but this is a family site! Afrikaans offers many choice words and phrases to use.
"George Bush is 'n ou Windgat. Hy praat kak droog!"
Polite translation: George Bush is an old windbag, who speaks a load of rubbish.
PS: "Voetsek" not voigt sec!
Afrikaans for 'Get lost'. This is not a swear word, but still a rather crude expression, like English 'bog off'.

in basa' toraya 9 a language from Sulawesi, Indonesia); tai laso' mu = **** dickyours!!
in Spanish(Peru) 'concha tu madre' 'clam your mother'
I don't know any others but you can see that insults in other languages are not so insulting in English!!!!!

Why bother with different languages, there is one insult the whole world understands no matter what language you are that is the one finger and two finger salute and we all know what that means.

In greek they say something like
'ta grafs t'arhedthia mou' which means 'I write you on my balls' or 'gamoto tis mana sou' which means 'I **** your mother'.
Sorry - I dont know how to get the greek lettering on here so I have just spelt the phrases phonetically.
